What You Need For Breaded Cauliflower?

To make these crispy and flavorful, you will need:

  • Fresh cauliflower florets: Choose a head of cauliflower and cut it into bite-sized florets.
  • Keto breadcrumbs: These low-carb bread crumbs will provide the perfect crispy coating for the cauliflower. 
  • Eggs: Whisk the eggs together to create an egg wash that helps the breadcrumbs to stick to the cauliflower.
  • Seasoning: Enhance the flavor of your cauliflower by adding salt, turmeric, and garlic powder to the mixture.

Are you ready to tantalize your taste buds with a delightful low-carb treat? In this recipe, I will show you how to make them crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and bursting with flavor. Let us dive into the simple steps to create this delicious dish.

STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS FOR BAKED BREADED CAULIFLOWER RECIPE

First Step: Ingredients Needed

Prepare all the ingredients for your low-carb bites, including fresh cauliflower, keto breadcrumbs, eggs, salt, turmeric, and garlic powder. Ensure you have everything ready before starting the recipe.

Wash and cut the cauliflower into your preferred sizes. If you use a whole head of cauliflower, double the ingredients. 

At the same time, preheat your oven to 180 Celsius or 350 Fahrenheit.

Crispy Cauliflower Bites

Second Step: Prepare Egg Mixture

Whisk the eggs with salt, garlic powder, and turmeric in a mixing bowl to create an egg wash. In a separate bowl, place your keto breadcrumbs. This mixture will be used as the coating for the cauliflower. You can also thin out the batter using a few drops of milk.

Third Step: Coat and Bake

Take a floret and dip the cauliflower into the egg wash, ensuring it is fully coated. Allow any excess egg wash to drip off before transferring the floret to the breadcrumb mixture. Coat the cauliflower with the breadcrumbs, pressing gently to ensure they stick well. Repeat this process for all the cauliflower florets.

Place the battered cauliflower florets on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer, leaving space between each.

Add a small baking rack to ensure it is baked from all sides.

Depending on the size, bake the cauliflower for 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Keep an eye on them to avoid overcooking.

TIPS AND TRICKS:

  • Dry: To ensure a crispy texture, thoroughly dry the cauliflower florets before dipping them in the egg wash. Excess moisture can prevent the breadcrumbs from sticking to the cauliflower properly.
  • Breading: If you are not following low carb, you can use your breadcrumbs or panko. 
  • Seasoning: Experiment with different herbs and spices to customize the flavor of your bites. Apart from salt and pepper, add a pinch of cayenne pepper for some heat, or sprinkle some grated Parmesan cheese and smoked paprika for extra savory goodness. You can also mix in our enchiladatacosausage seasoning, or Indian spices before dredging. 
  • Extra Crispy: If you prefer an even crispier result, use an air fryer instead of baking. Follow the same coating process and air fry the cauliflower florets in batches until they are baked until crispy.

Can I Make Crispy Breaded Cauliflower Bites in an Air Fryer?

Yes, you can make crispy cauliflower in an air fryer. Follow the same breading process described in the recipe, then place the breaded cauliflower in a single layer in the air fryer basket. 

Air fry at the recommended temperature until they turn golden brown and crunchy. The air fryer method can yield excellent results with satisfying crispiness.

How Do You Store and Reheat Baked Cauliflower?

To store leftover baked cauliflower, let it cool completely, then transfer it to an airtight container. Refrigerate for up to 3 days. 

When ready to reheat, preheat your oven to a moderate temperature, place the cauliflower on a lined baking sheet, and bake until heated and the roasted cauliflower gets crispy again. This will help restore the crunchiness while maintaining the flavors.

Can You Freeze Leftover Crispy Baked Cauliflower?

Yes, you can freeze leftover crispy baked cauliflower. After it has cooled completely, place the cauliflower in a freezer-safe container or zip-top bag. Ensure they are well-sealed to prevent freezer burn. You can store frozen breaded cauliflower for up to 2 months.
