Is Egg Drop Soup Keto Friendly?
This one is. The problem with many of the Egg Drop Soups is, that they are always added with starch to make them a bit creamier. But if you just use an egg and mix it well, you do not need any thickener at all to enjoy it fully Keto.
But how to make Creamy Egg drop soup still keto?
If you really insist and you are not satisfied with only eggs, you can always add a bit of Xanthan Gum to thicken it. But be careful In this instance little goes a long way. If you add too much of Xanthan, you might end ups with a gooey thick non edible Keto Egg Drop Soup.
Is Chinese Egg Drop Soup Keto Friendly?
Unless you make it yourself at home and you do know what you have put inside, it will be. But most of the Chinese Restaurant area adding not only Glutamine but as well other starches to make it really tasty. I would not trust that.
One of the first visits to Chinese Restaurants, when my daughter was first diagnosed is a great example. At that time she was newly diagnosed, so we really had no idea how everything works and ordered a plain soup to be on a safe side. Plain I mean, really plain. Not even veggies or chicken. It was just a clear soup. Simply water. And O my. She went so high from it, we could not believe. But one learns the lesson and since then we are really cautious.

Can Egg Drop Soup be frozen?
Well from my own experience, every time I make a Bone or Chicken Broth, I always freeze 80& of it. Just place it into the Mason Jars and straight into the Freezer. After that, every time you need it, just take it out the night before and on the day, heat up the soup and add the eggs as per the video. There you have it. So Easy.
The story goes:
One day, she stayed for lunch at my friend’s place.
Came home and the first thing was, she started explaining to me how great and unbelievable soup they had. She said, she never ever had such a lovely soup and I should definitely make one like that.
So, the next thing: what would I not do for my kid. I immediately went to call a friend to ask what kind of soup they had and if she could give me a recipe.
She told me they had a Bone Broth.
I could not believe it. I ask if she was certain, that it was a bone broth. She said yes. Then I asked her how she did it exactly, so maybe the way was some special way and different then I normally do it.
After she explained all of the steps, I could not believe it. It was exactly like mine.
Talked to Sophie and asked her how is it possible that she so much LOVED it, when I do the exact same. She replied, that I never did that soup and it was not a bone broth.
So there I went to call again. Asked my friend for any special ingredients she added what she did not tell me because my daughter keeps saying that it was not a bone broth.
Not. All the same.
The day after she called me back again and said, that maybe it was the egg inside. I said what? An egg? In the bone broth?
So she started explaining how she puts an egg at the end.
The next day I tried it and BANG.
Sophie was ecstatic and kept telling me that yes, that is the exact soup she had at a friends place.
This is really 5-minute keto Egg Drop Soup.
And all that was just 1 additional egg. Just one simple egg and she loves my bone broth again.
