EASY ASPARAGUS KETO QUICHE
This healthy, simple and easy to make Easy Asparagus Keto Quiche with Fathead Dough and Camembert is a great casserole dish, that can be made well in advance. Have it for Breakfast, Dinner, Brunch or any other occasions. It will always be a winner on the table.
What is Quiche?
Quiche came originally from France at around 17the century and was later adapted by English cuisine with adding eggs and different types of cream.
Quiche is a savory type of tart or casserole type of dish. The base and sides are filled with a pie-like crust and filled with eggs mixed with cream, milk, yogurt, or cheese. As an addition, various types of vegetables and meats or fish is added.
The whole casserole is then baked in the oven and served directly from the dish. It is very popular for Brunch events but can be eaten at any time of the day. Since eggs are involved, it is a perfect breakfast option or a snack during the day.
I normally make quiche for dinner and if there are any leftovers, that is later consumed the next day for breakfast.
One of the famous Quiche of all is Quiche Loraine. Named after Lorraine region in France, it is a combination of eggs mixed with famous Gruyére Cheese and bacon.
May 20 is Quiche Loraine Day. Did you know? Therefore I have decided to post this recipe just before the day. You can all join in and celebrate with your own creations. Or just making our version of Easy Keto Asparagus Quiche with Fathead Dough and Camembert and sharing it with others.
How many calories are in Easy Asparagus Keto Quiche?
Quiche, in general, is pretty high in calories and therefore it is not really advisable to add a side dish to it. You will be filled up fully by just a piece of it.
But since we are using Asparagus here, which is very low in carbohydrates as well as calories. This will help a bit in reducing the amount for us.

How to make Easy Asparagus Keto Quiche?
In this part, I would like to share with you a step by step instruction on how do I make Easy Asparagus Keto Quiche from Fathead Dough and Camembert.
FIRST STEP: PREPARE FATHEAD DOUGH
As I do use this Fathead Dough on various recipes, I have written a complete instruction with additional photos in our Keto Bacon Fathead Pizza Dough Recipe.

Simply, warm up the mozzarella, until it melts, add Almond flour together with dry garlic spice and mix properly still warming up the pot. Once all combined, switch the heating up. Add egg and combine it once again entirely until a soft, consistent looking dough is made.
SECOND STEP: PREPARE THE FILLING
Add eggs, yogurt, parsley, salt, and pepper and with a hand-held mixer combine all of the ingredients together. Add pre-cut asparagus and mix that into the bowl with a spatula.

THIRD STEP: LINE THE FATHEAD DOUGH ONTO THE CASSEROLE
Whatever casserole you are going to use, oil the base a bit. This will prevent the Asparagus Keto Quiche from sticking once baked and ready to serve. Spread the Fathead Dough as a base onto the casserole ( I have used 10 Inch ceramic Quiche Casserole) either with your hands lightly oiled. Or as you see on the video, using a Mason Jar, which is also pre-oiled.
Since Fathead Dough is a bit sticky, oiling your hands or a mason jar would make the spreading much easier for you.
What if the Fathead dough is hard to spread?
If you do experience, that Fathead Dough is already cold and hard, just warm it up a little bit on the stove ( or microwave) and that way it will become again soft and easy to spread.
FOURTH STEP: MAKE SMALL HOLES INTO THE CRUST
Do not forget to skip this step. By using your fork, it is the easiest and quickest way to make as many tiny holes into the crust as you can. This will prevent the crust from bobbling during the baking process and will get a bit softer since the filling will get into the crust as well.
FIFTH STEP: POUR THE MIXTURE INTO THE CASSEROLE
In this step, you will gently pour the whole mixture into the casserole already lined up with Fathead Dough base crust.
SIXTH STEP: SPREAD THE ASPARAGUS AND CAMEMBERT
Wash and cut the ends of the asparagus. Cut them all into halves and spread onto the casserole. The way you spread them does not really matter. It is all depending on your preference. Just keep in mind, that in between you would be placing the camembert cheese as well.
I have cut the Camembert cheese to 16 pieces, from which I still had 5 pieces left. If you like thicker pieces of Camembert inside, just cut it to 4 or 8 pieces. It again really depends on you. Spread the pieces around the dish and place it all into the oven to bake.
SEVENTH STEP: BAKE
Bake our Easy Asparagus Keto Quiche from Fathead Dough and Camembert for 45 minutes.
Do not try to shorten the time.
Trust me, I talk from my own experience. It needs to be fully baked, otherwise, the middle will be still raw eggs.
Can you bake the Fathead crust first?
I have tried both of the options.
By most of the normal quiche recipes, the base is baked first. The reason is, that the crust needs to be a bit harder, so it does not soak up the stuffing and the whole quiche does not become mushy.
But with our Fathead Dough crust, this is not the case. The dough is baked into a real perfection being enough hard for you to even take the whole Low Carb Quiche out of the casserole. The sides of the crust are beautifully crunchy as well.
With pre-baking the crust, I have experienced, that the dough gets already browned. And while you do have to leave the whole Asparagus Quiche baked for 45 minutes, that will burn the edges.
Plus it just takes few steps out of the process and makes this lovely Easy Asparagus Keto Quiche even simpler and faster.
What if the crust gets too brown while baking?
This is not a problem at all. Just cover the round ring of the crust with foil to prevent the early burning.
Can you make Easy Asparagus Keto Quiche ahead of time?
You certainly can. And it is the easiest way, how to prepare your dish for the times when you really do not have the time. You can make it the day ahead. Once ready to serve, just pop it into the oven for 10 minutes to reheat and get that lovely crunch on the outside.
Can you make Crustless Keto Quiche with this recipe?
And to your surprise, I have tried that as well. All you have to do is completely skip the process of making and spreading the Fathead Dough crust. Just pour the egg mixture directly onto the casserole and bake as instructed.
How to store Easy Asparagus Keto Quiche?
As with any other quiche recipes, it is very easily stored in the fridge for several days. Just cover the casserole, and every time you get the need for a piece, cut it, heat it up and consume.
We like to eat it cold as well, so you can try that option also.
Can you eat fresh asparagus?
While baking, cleaning and photographing this dish, I have eaten a few pieces of asparagus completely raw.
And to my big surprise, I really loved it. Since then, the whole week, every time I have a snack during the day, I just add a few pieces of raw asparagus onto my plate as well. It really is delicious and I would suggest you try it as well.
While making this recipe, I had to go to the shop several times to buy more of asparagus.
On one of the occasion, they had an offer where you buy one box and get the second one free.
On the way home I was already thinking about what the third recipe I am going to make for the blog.
And guess what?
After I have tried those few pieces while taking some shots, I have decided not to make anything else. I really fell in love with this beautiful healthy raw Green Asparagus.
And you would too.

Can you freeze Low Carb Asparagus Quiche?
You can and I did on several occasions. The best way to freeze this healthy quiche is as separate pieces. Just cut all of the leftovers and pack them separately.
As any other frozen goodies, this will become much easier for you, once taken out and ready to be eaten.
- You do take as many pieces you are ready to consume.
- They will unfreeze much faster if they are already pre-cut.
I like to take the pieces out of the freezer the night before and place it into the fridge. In that way, it will unfreeze really slowly and by morning the Easy Asparagus Keto Quiche will be ready to eat.

- Place a pot on the stove and switch on the medium heat
- Once the pot is heated, add shredded mozzarella and let it melt completely using spatula to mix from time to time
- When mozzarella has melted fully (check video), add almond meal and garlic powder and knead with spatula until both gets properly incorporated
- After you are satisfied with the dough, switch the heat off completely and add egg.
- Knead the egg into the dough to incorporate it fully with spatula
- Mix Eggs, Yogurt and Parsley with a hand held mixer in a bowl.
- Add 2 pre-cut asparagus pieces and mix again with spatula
- Heat Up the Oven to 190C or 370 F
- Oil your casserole ( I have used 10 inch Quiche casserole) a bit to prevent crust sticking while serving
- With oiled hand or base of a small Mason Jar (oiled as well) spread the Fathead dough throughout the casserole evenly. Do not forget sides as well
- Using fork, make small holes throughout the whole crust.
- Add the filling mixture already prepared
- Cut all 8 remaining Green asparagus to half and place it on top of the filling. Once done, add the Camembert Cheese throughout the whole dish
