Ingredients

  • 1 Package Cream Cheese
  • Water

Instructions

  • Choose your preferred method. You can use the room temperature method, microwave method, double boiler method, or warm water bath method, depending on your time and equipment availability.
  • Take the cream cheese out of the refrigerator and remove it from its packaging. Place it on the countertop and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes. Ensure it doesn’t stay out too long to avoid spoilage.
  • Place the unwrapped cream cheese in a microwave-safe bowl if you're using the microwave. Microwave it on high for 15 seconds, then check and stir it. Repeat in 10-second intervals until it reaches your desired softness, being cautious not to overheat.
  • Bring a pan of water to a simmer for the double boiler method. Put the cream cheese in a heatproof bowl and set it on the simmering pot. Stir occasionally until it reaches the desired consistency.
  • Place the whole block of wrapped cream cheese in a bowl of warm water in this method. Let it sit for about 15 minutes, flipping the block in the water every few minutes to ensure even softening.

Notes

  • Different types of cream cheese have different consistencies; whipped cream cheese is softer than regular cream cheese.
  • Start with cream cheese at room temperature (around 70°F) for easier softening.
  • Store cream cheese in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources, to maintain its texture.
