Instructions

  • First off, prepare all of your ingredients. Try to get the freshest, organic berries. Wash the strawberries well and tap dry. Place your strawberries into the refrigerator. Chipping chocolate bars into smaller pieces is good idea as they will melt much faster. For coconut oil, try to get organic, the one with the least coconut flavor.
  • For the chocolate ganache, prepare a double boiler. Melt the chocolate chips or bar first on low heat. Once you melt the chocolate halfway, add coconut oil, steering regularly. Let it melt until both of the ingredients combine. Once everything is fully melted and combined, place aside and let the chocolate sauce cool down to room temperature mixing it regularly.
  • Once your melted chocolate has cooled down, you can prepare everything for strawberry coating. Try to pick a tall glass that is narrow enough.
  • Once you’re ready to submerge your strawberries, take them out of the refrigerator, and use a kitchen towel to make sure they’re dry all around. As the video shows, gently dip your strawberry into the melted chocolate and rotate to cover all sides. Once the strawberry is covered in chocolate, slowly take it out of the glass. If you’re planning to use additional toppings or decorations, sprinkle immediately after dipping the strawberries.

Notes

  • Cool Berries – I always advise placing the strawberries, or any berries used, into the fridge first, as cold berries stick better and make the chocolate harden much faster.
  • Dry Berries – Use a kitchen towel to ensure your strawberries are fully dry. Chocolate will stick to them much better.
  • Parchment Paper – Once you plan to place the chocolate strawberries for hardening, use either parchment paper or a cling film.
  • Placement - Do not place strawberries directly onto the plate. Chocolate will harden and stick to the plate. It is much easier to move them later on from either parchment paper or a cling film.
  • Excess chocolate - Any chocolate left, store in the covered container in your fridge. If needed, microwave the chocolate for 30 seconds, let it cool and use it again.
