Equipment

Ingredients

  • 24 Shrimps
  • 1 Red Pepper
  • 1 Zucchini
  • 16 Button Mushrooms

Marinade - Optional

Instructions

  • Get your jumbo shrimp, red pepper, zucchini, and button mushrooms.
  • If you wish to infuse the shrimp with flavor, you can marinate the shrimp before grilling. Make a special sauce by mixing olive oil, lemon juice, and the outside part of the lemon (we call it lemon zest). Add the shrimp to this sauce. Let them soak up the tasty flavors.
  • Take your marinated big shrimp and put them onto the wooden skewers. You can also use metal skewers. Put pieces of red pepper, zucchini, and mushrooms between the shrimp. Use two to three large shrimp per skewer.
  • Heat a grill or grill pan and make sure it is fully hot. It will shorten the time on the grill. Put your shrimp skewers on the grill. Cook the skewers for at least 2 to 3 minutes on each side, depending on the size of the shrimp. You'll see the shrimp turn pink and not see-through anymore – that is when the shrimp are done and cooked right. Shrimp typically cook quickly, so do not leave them too long.

Notes

  • Thawed shrimp - If you use frozen shrimp, ensure you thaw them fully.
  • If you want extra tasty shrimp, add some tiny pieces of garlic to your sauce or use grilled shrimp seasoning.
  • If you're using wooden skewers or using bamboo skewers, let them sit in water for about 30 minutes before you thread the shrimp on them. It stops them from burning on the hot grill.
