Prepare all the ingredients. Wash the chicken breasts and chop the garlic. If you are using a block of cheese, grate it for easy preparation. While preparing the ingredients, start preheating your oven to 190 degrees Celsius or 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
If it is your first time using an iron skillet, thoroughly heat it before cooking. For safety, use a pot holder since the handle of this pan turns hot when you start cooking. Add oil once the pan is hot, and saute the minced garlic until it turns golden brown. Add the shredded chicken and let it simmer. Cook the chicken a bit, then add the buffalo ranch sauce and cream cheese.
After adding the buffalo sauce and cream cheese, mix until thoroughly combined, and then add the last ingredient, the shredded cheddar cheese. It is your choice whether to mix it or just put it on top and bake it, but I prefer mixing it so the cheese's flavor blends in with the dip once baked.
Once everything is mixed and combined, transfer it to the preheated oven and bake to 190C (375F) for 10 minutes. Broil to brown the top for a few minutes before taking the pan out of the oven.

Notes
Cheese - Use any cheese you want, even a cheddar cheese. Try using mozzarella cheese for that cheese pull; it's perfect for this dip.
Broil - For an extra crispy top, broil the dip for a few minutes after baking until it turns golden brown and bubbly.
Add toppings - Before serving, you can top your dip by simply tossing some crumbled blue cheese, diced celery, or chopped green onions.
Softened cream cheese - For easier mixing, ensure it is softened at room temperature before combining it with the other ingredients.
