Ingredients

  • 12 slices Bacon or Prosciutto
  • 12 Brussel Sprouts
  • 1/4 Cup Shredded Cheese

Instructions

  • Prepare all ingredients together. Fully clean Brussels sprouts, trim the stem ends, and discharge the outer layers. At the same time, preheat oven to 200 degrees Celsius or 400 Degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Fully dry your Brussels sprouts. Take one piece and one strip of bacon. If the piece of bacon slice is too broad, you can fold it or cut it into two parts. Wrap each Brussels sprout with bacon.
  • Lay the bacon wrapped sprouts onto a rimmed baking sheet lined with parchment paper and top up with shredded cheese. Place into the oven and bake for 30 minutes or until bacon is crisp.
  • Once all the roasted Brussels sprouts are baked, secure with a toothpick or finger food mini skewer. Place onto a serving dish and sprinkle with fresh thyme for extra flavor.

Notes

  • Bacon - depending on how much bacon you want, you can fold a thick strip into half as I did. You can also cut the bacon in half and use only one layer.
  • Caramelized - Lightly brush each strip with maple syrup before baking for extra sweetness.
  • Swaps - bacon strips can be swapped with prosciutto or pancetta.
  • Cheese - always use a block of cheese and shred it at home.
