Ginger Turmeric Energy Shot Recipe for your regular Immunity Boost prepared in less than 5 minutes out of 5 powerful ingredients. Fully Sugar-Free, Low Carb, Gluten-Free and Keto, those Wellness Shots will load you up with energy like no others.
For years, every time the autumn comes and I start being cold, my kitchen turns into a homemade natural booster corner.

I start drinking ginger tea with lemon every single morning, prepare garlic soup and healthy Bone Broth for my whole family and add as many Fermented Vegetables to our daily diet as I can.
Normally by then, my Keto Fermented Dill Pickles are ready to be eaten and I make sure I add turmeric to every single meal I prepare, to boost our Immune Systems.
From time to time, I mix for us small wellness shots, which we then enjoy on a daily basis.
Ginger Turmeric Energy Shot
One of them is our Ginger Turmeric Energy Shot Recipe, I would like to share with you.
When we lived in Dubai, my mum used to make this shot for us regularly using fresh turmeric, which was easily available in all of the supermarkets.
But as we have moved back to Europe, I have realized that to get fresh turmeric is really a difficult task. And therefore I have started substituting it with Dry Turmeric powder, we bring every year from our Dubai Holidays.
And Dubai was the place when one of my dear friends from India told me to add pepper and oil to our shots for additional benefits. She has explained how black pepper and fat helps with the absorption of turmeric.
There was nothing else I needed to know. I have added it in and that’s how it stayed.

Immunity Boosters
I used to make our shots once or twice a year, either when I felt I needed a bit of a boost or when everyone around us started being sick.
But I have never thought of sharing this recipe with you, as I thought it is something we have done even before our transformation to the Low Carb lifestyle and it was not really a part of it.
But as I have last week mixed one bottle for us again, I thought of my blog.
Why not?
Why not share everything with you.
Some might use it, some might buy it in the shops for unbelievable prices. And all I wanted to show you is, how easy and pretty cheap it is to make it at home in less than 5 minutes.
Our Ginger Turmeric Energy Shot consists of 5 best ever Ingredients you can give to your body.
And thanks to our lives in the Middle East for a very long time, we have become accustomed to those spices and use them regularly even now when we all have moved back to Europe.

5 Ingredients for the best Immunity Shot:
- Ginger
- Turmeric
- Lemon
- Black Pepper
- Fat
Ginger
Ginger roots have been used as a spice as well as a medicine for centuries. Coming from the family of Zingiberaceae, where Turmeric and Cardamom are also included, there can not be anything better. Just taking those 3 spices together, you get an unbelievable combination of the best ever addition to your meals, your kitchen can have.
Ginger is a natural antioxidant and may assist as anti-inflammatory as well as antiviral. (source)
Turmeric
Turmeric, which is another root coming from the same family of Zingiberaceae is another one of my most popular spices.
Not only because of its health benefits but also because of the neutral taste as well as the beautiful color you get. Adding Curcuma or Turmeric to anything you like will transform your dish into a beautiful deep orange feast.
Dry turmeric is also used as a natural coloring agent and you can really experiment with it.
Turmeric, very similarly to ginger, has

Lemon
Lemon is great to use instead of water to help in a combination with our shot. Containing an unbelievable amount of Vitamin C and being very low in carbohydrates, lemons are a great addition to our lifestyle and should be used as much as we can.
Black Pepper
Black Pepper is added into our Ginger Turmeric Energy Shot for greater absorption of turmeric.
Would you believe the absorption can be increased by up to 2,000%?
Black Pepper helps to increase the compounds in the curcumin, which is a part of Turmeric roots. It supports healthy stomach acid secretion, which helps us dearly with our digestion.
Fat
Fat is the last ingredient that helps with the absorption of Curcumin. I have chosen Extra Virgin Olive Oil as it is our most favorite fat we use, but you can as well choose butter, Pork Lard, coconut oil or any fat you prefer.
Does the Ginger Turmeric Energy shot taste good?
Well, I have to tell you straight, that this is not a cocktail you want to have during your evening out.
But as I personally expect from a drink shot, which is supposed to boost my immune system, something pretty strong, that’s what it is.
It is sour thanks to the lemons in it, a bit spicy from turmeric as well as black pepper.

But I love it. I love that little powdered feeling when I shake the bottle before drinking it.
My daughter loves it as well, which I have not expected.
So to tell you frankly. It is not the best, but we love it.
And if you really can not drink it for some strange reason, just add a bit of sweetener.

Tips and tricks
Fresh Turmeric – you can use fresh turmeric instead of a powdered one if you have easy access to it. I have chosen the powdered version, as I see in our case how difficult it is to find fresh Tumeric around here.
Fat – you can use any fat you prefer to boost the absorption of turmeric. I have chosen Extra Virgin Olive Oil as it is our most favorite fat we use, but you can as well choose butter, Pork Lard, coconut oil or any fat you prefer.
Strain – If you do not like the thickness of our energy drink, you can strain it after the mixing if you prefer. Bear in mind though that the strength of the drink will be a bit milder as I do believe pepper, as well as dry turmeric powder, is filled with health benefits as well and straining it, will lose its potency.
We do not have a problem with it and all we do is shake the bottle before drinking it to get all of the yumminess in.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
It really is up to you when to take your shots. The best is on a daily basis and at similar times every day. I normally like to take my shots first thing in the morning on an empty stomach, as I do know that I get all the benefits straight in the morning. And everything works faster and stronger on an empty stomach I believe.
But if you are trying it for the first time, I would suggest taking a small amount on an empty stomach and see how you feel.
Ginger helps in stimulating your digestion and as Ginger tea is the best to drink first thing in the morning, your healthy energy shot would be as well.
You just have to make sure you do not have any problems with its consumption on an empty stomach.
If you have not done that before, I would suggest taking a small amount for a few days and see how you feel.
Our Ginger Turmeric Energy Shots recipe is not only great for boosting your immune system but do help in mild colds, flu or inflammation.
The homemade ginger shot should last for 4-5 days as long as they are properly stored in the airtight container in the refrigerator.
You can also freeze the shots if you would like to store it for longer.
You can easily freeze our Wellness shots for longer shelf life. Simply pour it into the ice cube trays and you can store it inside the freezer for 6 months up to a year.
All you have to do is defrost one cube whenever you need it. In the summer, you can take a few of the ice cubes and add them into a jar with water to have a perfectly mild energy drink for your guest during a summer party as an example.

Going to try your recipe! Where did you get your cork stop glass bottles? The amazon ones aren’t quite the same. Thank you!

I have got them years ago in one simple shop. But tell you frankly, they are great for photos, but I would prefer something a bit bigger for daily use. Also, those cork stops (on my photos), do not really hold fully.

I successfully grow fresh tumeric and ginger in flower pots and bring them inside when the weather changes in the fall. Been doing this for 2 yrs. Harvest up to one pound of each yearly and still have plenty left replant. I googled how and they grew beautifully. Fresh tastes best!! Try it.

Woho, that is a great idea Suzie,
I have never thought of growing them at home. I need to look into it.
