What is Infused Iced Tea?
Infused iced tea is a simple Iced tea, that gets infused with your chosen flavor gradually. You let the flavors from dry tea leaves or fruits to slowly evaporate in the water. In this way, your iced tea gets infused slower, but on the other side adds great flavors for your chosen drink.

Cold Brewed Iced Tea is a process, where you do not use boiling water at all. Here you are using a normal room temperature drinking water. By adding boiling water into your tea, few of the disadvantages arise. You might get pretty strong bitterness, acidity and sometimes even cloudiness.
Advantages of Cold Brewed Iced Tea.
On the other side there are great advantages of making your Iced Tea Cold Brewed:
- by adding room temperature water, you are not killing any vitamins
- your tea will get always beautifully clear and colorful
- there is not a pinch of bitterness
- the taste of the Iced tea gets naturally milder and sometimes even sweeter

- fever tannins are released
- antioxidants are released slower but are greater compared to a normal tea
- taste of the iced tea lasts much longer
What tea to use for keto iced Tea making?
Here it really depends on you. Whatever tea you choose as a base, unless you add some different sweetener, would be Keto. Well, apart of the fruit teas, where we avoid all fruits except the berries. But there are so many varieties of berries, you will never run out of choices.
Since this recipe is an Iced Tea and not an Infused water, I have used all of the dry leaves and teas. I have chosen, what was available and what I had at home. I always keep dry herbs in the kitchen and this was a great choice.
The best is to use loose tea, where you really have pieces of chosen leaves and not some kind of powder you get in a tea bag.
Our varieties as you can see on the video were
- Lemon Iced Tea
- Berries Iced Tea
- Lavender Iced Tea
- Peppermint Iced Tea
Each one of those Cold Brewed Keto Iced tea, gave us not only different tastes. Additionally to that, the colors as you can see were extraordinary. I just could not stop looking at the colors once I took them out from the fridge the next day.
Our daughter had really a blast tasting them and took every day a different flavor to school together with her lunch box. Let me tell you, she was a star on those days. All the kids wanted to have a sip.
How to make Cold Brewed Keto Iced Tea?
The steps involved in making those perfect Iced Tea varieties is so simple, that I was even thinking if I should write a post about it. But then on the other side, not everyone knows there is a possibility of making a Cold Brewed Iced Tea. Also, lots of people do not know the benefits of making one. And then as I have seen those beautiful colors, I just had to make it and share it with all of you.
All you do is pour a room temperature water over your chosen leaves and place it into the fridge for 24 hours. That’s it. Nothing else involved.
Well if you would like water to infuse a bit stronger, I would suggest leaving the jar for one hour on the kitchen table, before it goes to the fridge.
And I forgot to mention a step, where you have to run the tea through the muslin cloth before serving it to get rid of all the dry leaves.
Can you make Keto Iced Tea Lemonade?
This would be one of the great ideas for what to do with it except an Iced Tea. All you have to do is add a few pieces of berries and sweetener of your choice with maybe a few drops of lemon and ice cubes. Your Keto Lemonade has been born.
Keto Iced Tea at Starbucks.
For the last few years, every time we go to Starbucks, my daughters favorite Starbucks Iced Tea is Hibiscus. And that is exactly what I should have made as well for this video. Well, next time. We live in Europe and therefore I guess the choices of Starbucks Iced Teas are a bit different. But I have just found out, they also have a Cold Brewed. But unfortunately only a Coffee Version.

How long can you keep Keto Iced Tea?
As most of the drinks, it is best if you have the tea as fresh as you can. Since this recipe calls for 24 hours of storage, from our experience, we could not wait for the next morning to drink it. And therefore, we did not really keep it longer than a maximum of 2 days.
But on the other side, if you will make a bit more, it is perfectly tasty even after few days. Therefore 4-5 days is great as well.
How to store Keto Iced Tea?
To store Cold Brewed Keto Infused Iced Tea is in the fridge. There it stays cold as it supposes to be. Every time you would like to have some, it is ready to drink. And just in case you still feel you need more coldness in your summer day, just add more Ice cubes.
You can also store it in the freezer and I am already thinking how great this might look. Each flavor into a different container and you have a Summer dring with colorful ice cubes. Can you imagine that awesomeness while serving? O my. I am making this next round. And will probably take some shots for you to see.
I guess I will not stay with this Iced Tea mix only. My head is already spinning with different ideas, where I can use those perfectly tasty Cold Brewed Keto Infused Iced Teas.
But if you do have any great idea, do share it with us. Especially my daughter will be so happy to try variations of Keto Drink Recipes.
