I have come across this lovely way of making coffee a few months ago when a friend visited and started raving about cold press or cold brew coffee. I tried it once and never went back to our ordinary way.
What is a cold Brew Coffee?
Cold Brew Coffee has been around for quite a while. It is a process of extracting coffee without a touch of hot water, which is not only more beneficial to our health but also tastes way different as a normal hot coffee. In this method, coffee is steeped in cold water for 12-24 hours, depending on the coffee beans you use. Lighter your coffee beans are, the longer time for Coffee Brewing is needed.
Originated from Japan, it has been used for centuries as a traditional method of coffee brewing.
It has become more popular in the last few years with different gadgets for you to easily make it. But I tell you, you do not need any special gadgets. It is as easy as if you make Keto Infused Iced Tea or infused drinks. Same steps apply, and your coffee is transformed into irresistible smooth, non-bitter and flavourful morning drink, that gives you energy for the rest of the day.

Iced coffee is a method, where normal hot coffee is made using a various methods, and subsequently, blocks of ice cubes are added to cool down the drink and make a refreshing beverage.
Cold Brewed Coffee is, where coffee is made without touching the heat. The exact recipe we will be making today. The additional benefits I have mentioned above apply. With Cold Breed Coffee, you are using time instead of heat.

What do you need to make Keto Cold Brew Coffee?
- Mason Jar
- filter or muslin cloth
Nothing sophisticated. And I am sure you have it all at home. If not, use any jars you have, strainer you normally use, and piece of cloth through which you can filter the coffee.
BASIC STEPS TO USE FOR MAKING KETO COLD BREW COFFEE RECIPE
First step: Mason Jars
Prepare the mason jar, or a jar you have at home. Make sure you pick a jar, which you are able to close and it does not leaks as I do mix it from time to time within those 12-24 hours. Fill it up fully with water.
Second Step: Ground or Coarse Coffee
Depending on how strong you want your Cold Brew Coffee to be, add that amount into water. I normally use 2 spoons of ground coffee for 1 (1 pint or 16oz) Mason Jar. This will give me the exact strength I like. Bear in mind, I like my coffee less concentrated.
For more concentration, double or triple the amount of coffee, which you can then mix it with water or ice. Also you can use Coarse Ground Coffee i you still feel, that your coffee is bitter.
Third Step: Close and mix
Close the lid of a Mason Jar and shake it fully. I still shake and remix it few times during the day for the coffee to get more brewing.
Fourth Step: Store for 24 Hrs
Depending on your coffee beans, taste and preference, store the coffee jar in the fridge for 12 to 24 hours and let it brew fully. Lighter your beans are, longer they would need to be brewed. I like to keep my jar till the next day, not really counting the hours.
Fifth Step: Strain
Once your coffee is Brewed, take a Muslin Cloth placed on top of the strainer. Strain all of the coffee into a clean Mason Jar. Close the lid and place it into the refrigerator. There you can keep it for 1 week or longer and use daily.
Sixth Step: Ice and water
Once you are ready to serve, the best is to fill up the glass with Ice cubes and a bit of water. This will help the concentrated Cold Brew Coffee get
Seventh Step: Serve
Pour the amount of already prepared Cold-brew Coffee into a glass and enjoy. Remember, that it still contains caffeine, so do not drink it in the evenings. Or at least that is in my case. I can only drink my coffee until 3 pm. Otherwise I will not sleep the whole night. Cold-brew coffee or a normal hot coffee. It does not matter. I have tried it all.
Eight Step: Add Keto milk
If you wish, you can add a bit of Keto milk, be it almond milk or coconut milk or any milk you prefer.

Can cold brew coffee be made in a french press ?
Absolutely yes. It is very similar to using our easy to make Mason Jar method. Just pour water and coffee into a French Press and let it brew for 24 hours. At the end press the French press and push the coffee into the base of the jar. Pour over your ice, serve and enjoy.
With a french press method, try to use the coffee as soon as Brewing is finished. Otherwise, pour the rest of the coffee to a clean jar for storing.
My Keto Cold Brew Coffee is bitter.
If you still feel your Keto Cold Press Coffee is bitter, either use less concentrate or use Course Ground Coffee instead of Fine Ground Coffee.
cold brewed coffee stronger ?
Using the same amount of coffee to water ratio, if you do compare them to a normal hot coffee, yes. It is much stronger because of the long period of brewing compared to a normal hot coffee dripping through
But depending on the concentrate you have made, it could be really strong. In general Cold Brew Coffee is always diluted and therefore you pick your strength. If you feel it is strong, just add more ice or water.
How long is brewed coffee good for
I would suggest to keep it in the fridge for a week. Not more. Since this method is really easy to make, why having and old coffee in the fridge. Make fresh Brew every few days and enjoy.

You can freeze your Cold Brew Coffee without a problem. It is actually a perfect method of storing your concentrate and use it whenever you need it.
Just pour it into the Ice moulds and let it freeze.
Whenever you need your coffee, pick few Coffee Cubes, pour water over it, add a pinch of Low Carb milk and enjoy.
C an Cold Brew Coffee be heated ?
You can heat up your Cold Brew Coffee and drink it as a regular coffee. You will still get all of the benefits of Cold Brew coffee, just a little milder.
Still much better as a normal hot coffee.
W ill cold brew coffee break a fast?
As long as you are not using sugar, milk or Bulletproof way, there should be not a single reason you would break a fast with drinking Keto Cold Brew coffee.
