What Is Quiche?
Traditional quiche came from France around the 17th century and was later adapted by English cuisine by adding eggs and different types of cream or heavy cream.
Quiche is a savory tart served on a pie plate or casserole. The base and sides are filled with savory pie crust and eggs mixed with cream, milk, yogurt, or shredded cheese. An addition, various types of vegetables and meats or fish are added.
Best Keto Quiche
This perfect keto quiche is a dish for your dinner, where you can either incorporate crust or make it without a crust. It all depends on you, and you have a few suggestions in this post.
The whole casserole is baked in the oven and served directly from the dish. It is trendy for brunch events but can be eaten at any time of the day. Since eggs are involved, it is a perfect breakfast option or a snack during the day.
I usually make quiche for dinner, and if there are any leftovers, that is later consumed the next day for breakfast.
Quiche Lorraine
One of the most famous quiches of all is quiche Loraine. Named after the Lorraine region in France, it combines eggs with favorite Gruyére cheese and bacon.
May 20 is quiche loraine day. Did you know? You can all join in and celebrate with your creations. Or make our version of quiche with fathead dough and camembert and share it with others.
Is Asparagus Keto?
A low carb vegetable worth mentioning. Asparagus is the perfect addition to our keto or low carb lifestyle. Whenever there is a season, I always have my fridge full. And in case you are new to this beauty, look at various ways you can cook asparagus to have it always the best tasting.
How Many Carbs and Calories Are in Low Carb Quiche?
Quiche is pretty high in calories, so it is not advisable to add a side dish. You will be filled up entirely with just a piece of it.
But we are using asparagus here, which is very low in carbohydrates and calories. This will help reduce the amount for us.
With regards to carbs, one piece gets you 6 grams of carbs and 3 grams of fiber for a total of 3 grams of net carbs.

STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO MAKE KETO QUICHE WITH ALMOND FLOUR
In this part, I want to share with you a step by step instructions on how do I make a quiche.
First Step: Prepare fathead dough
Warm up the mozzarella until it melts, add almond flour with dry garlic spice, and mix fully while warming up the pot. Once all combined, switch the heating up. Add egg and blend until a soft, consistent-looking dough is made.
Second Step: Prepare the keto friendly filling
To prepare keto quiche filling, add eggs, yogurt, parsley, salt, and pepper, and with a hand-held mixer, combine all of the ingredients. Add pre-cut asparagus and mix that into the bowl with a spatula.
Third Step: Line almond flour crust onto the casserole
Whatever casserole you are going to use, oil the base a bit. This will prevent the quiche from sticking once baked and ready to serve. Spread the fathead dough as a base onto the casserole ( I have used 10 Inch ceramic quiche casserole) either with your hands lightly oiled. Or, as you see in the video, use a mason jar, which is also pre-oiled.
Since this savory pastry crust is a bit sticky, oiling your hands or a mason jar would make the spreading much easier.
Fourth Step: Make small holes into the crust
Using your fork is the easiest and quickest way to make as many tiny holes into the crust as possible. This will prevent the crust from bobbling during the baking process and will get a bit softer since the filling will also get into the crust. Be sure to complete this step.
Fifth Step: Pour the mixture into the casserole
In this step, gently pour the whole mixture into the casserole lined up with fathead dough base crust.
Sixth Step: Spread the asparagus and camembert
Wash and cut the ends of the asparagus. Cut them all into halves and spread them onto the casserole. The way you spread them does not matter. It is all depending on your preference. Remember that in between, you would also be placing the camembert cheese.
I cut the Camembert cheese into 16 pieces but still had five pieces left. If you like thicker pieces of camembert inside, just cut it into 4 or 8 pieces. It depends on you. Spread the pieces around the dish and place the quiche into the oven to bake.
Seventh Step: Bake
Bake the quiche for 45 minutes.
Do not try to shorten the time.
Trust me. I talk from my own experience. It needs to be fully baked. Otherwise, the middle will still be raw eggs.
Remove the quiche from the oven, let the quiche rest for 5 to 10 minutes, and serve.
Tips and Tricks

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Yes, of course, you can add whatever you wish. You can make keto crustless quiche by whisking cheddar cheese with cream cheese in, make spinach quiche by adding fresh spinach, add broccoli and cheese to make broccoli cheese quiche, add the cooked bacon, chopped ham, leftover ham, cooked bacon, the ideas are endless. Once you make this recipe, every single lot afterward could look completely different but still use our easy low carb quiche recipe as a base.
What if the Fathead dough is hard to spread?
If you experience that fathead dough is already cold and hard, warm it up on the stove ( or microwave), so it will become again soft and easy to spread.
What if the Crust Gets Too Brown While Baking?
This is not a problem at all. Cover the crust’s round ring with foil to prevent early burning.
Can You Make a Keto Quiche Ahead of Time?
You certainly can. You can make it the day ahead. And it is the easiest way to prepare your dish when you really do not have the time. Once ready to serve, pop it into the oven for 10 minutes to reheat and get that lovely crunch on the outside.

And to your surprise, I have tried that as well. All you have to do is skip making and spreading the dough crust. Just pour the egg mixture directly onto the casserole and bake as instructed.
How Do You Reheat This Delicious Keto Quiche Recipe?
Our quiche recipe can be made a day in advance and reheated in the oven on a low just before serving. If you are planning brunch, this saves lots of stress. Works all the time.
How To Store Easy Keto Cheese Quiche?

While baking, cleaning, and photographing this dish, I ate a few pieces of raw asparagus.

This quiche can be frozen without any issue. The best way to freeze this healthy quiche is in separate pieces. Just cut all of the leftovers and pack them separately.Advantages:
- You do take as many pieces as you are ready to consume. They will unfreeze much faster if they are already pre-cut.
I like taking the pieces out of the freezer the night before and placing them into the fridge.

How about using crabmeat in the fathead dough quiche? It’s always been a favorite when using a non keto crust. Any adaptations suggestions? I’m ready to bake!
Do you mean inside the actual Fat head Dought? I myself love camembert cheese and this is a great idea and might work. Probably a bit less cheese as it is pretty soft compare to the mozzarella, which is used in most cases.
I really love this recipe. The fathead dough was easier to work with than I expected, and the camembert made the quiche rich and so creamy. I served it with pickles and it was so good. Yum!
Yum for pickles. that is a perfect match.
