Keto Cloud Egg?
We all love eggs. And they are part of our Low Carb or Keto Lifestyle. Well, a big part. Or the biggest one? I guess 99% of us can not live without eggs. We use them for almost everything. Cooking, Baking you name it.
Every time I visit a market by my parents, I make sure I get from one of the best farmer at least 60 – 70 of them so it lasts me a bit until I visit again. But to my surprise, in about 2 weeks it is all gone.
Sophie enjoys them over for breakfast almost every day. But there are days when she just needs something special or different. And that is the time when those easy to make Keto Could eggs comes handy.

Bacon and cheese?
And by adding cheese and bacon to this dish. What else would you wish for?

Actually, it is just a plain egg with few additional ingredients, just done differently than you are used to. And immediately the look is different.
How to make Cloud Egg?
I guess, there is not an easier explanation, then with a video and therefore here you have it.
With my daughter, it goes in stages. There are weeks when she wants something for breakfast every day. Then suddenly out of nowhere she refuses it and does not even wants to see it. But I am sure we are not alone. And with eggs, there is no exception. She either wants them or not anymore.

If I run out of ideas, those ones so far always worked. It takes a bit longer to prepare than a normal boiled egg, but Sophie says, it tastes much better than any other egg variation. The only thing I refuse to do is every day for breakfast. So it is always a special treat, once on the table.
What does a Cloud Egg taste like?
If you whisk just an egg white and then place it into the oven to bake, I would say, it does not have any taste at all. It is a kind of fluffy, but as well tasteless. Therefore comes handy the cheese and bacon. And a bit of salt and pepper if you desire. That brings the shites into a whole new level. It gives that lovely fluffy taste, but with bacon and cheese aftertaste. Its as if you have eaten a very soft meringue but in a salty way.
And then comes the Egg yolk pat. Once added, and placed again into the oven, the egg yolk cooks only a bit and will give you the perfect soft texture. Once cut through, you will have the yolk running through the whole dish. OMG. Just writing about it makes me so hungry.

Keto Cloud Egg Video Recipe

Do you know what Cloud Egg is? Can you make it out of the pictures posted here? Actually, it is just a plain egg with a few additional ingredients,
Ingredients
- 1 egg
- 1 slice of hard cheese
- 1 slice of bacon
- salt
- pepper
Instructions
- Heat up the oven on 230 C
- Place a parchment paper on a baking pan and set aside
- Separate the egg yolk and egg white
- Cut cheese and bacon into a small pieces
- Place egg white in a bowl and mix it into a foam
- Once mixed, add cheese, bacon and a bit of salt into egg white foam
- Gently with spatula place all the foam on the parchment paper onto a baking pan. Try to shape into a little mountain as high as possible.
- Once shaped, use a spoon to make a small hole on top of the egg white.
- Place it in the oven for 3 minutes
- Take it out of the oven and slowly place the egg yolk into a hole you made and back to the oven for another 3 minutes
- Bon Appetit

I first saw these cloud eggs on Instagram and would love to tackle this food trend. Though it takes a little time on cooking, compare to the regular scrambled eggs, but this is doable for me. This is an eggcellent way to start the day.

I am so sorry to hear that. Did you mix the egg whites into a stiff peak? Once you place it into the preheated oven, it should stay stiff and just bake. Check next time for the properly preheated oven and eggs beaten to a stiff peak.
