Fathead Dough
With Fathead Dough being the most popular Keto Dough in our family, I have already made quite a few recipes.

As a start was our super easy Keto Bacon Fathead Pizza Dough Recipe, which led me last summer to our Asparagus Keto Quiche and beautiful Rainbow Keto Pizza made with different colors of tomatoes into Keto Italian Breadsticks and finally our best ever and Crunchies of all Sesame Keto Crackers.
Mentioning all of our Fathead recipes for your inspiration, there is not a single one on a sweet side. I have to really get into it and bake something.
What would you like? Let me know

Egg Free Fathead Dough
But none of them was without eggs so far.
And so many of you have asked for something without eggs.
I so love the Fathead Dough whatever mix and combination it is, and that made me think of using the same basics, just trying to experiment with various substitutions.
And guess what I have come up with?
Fathead Dough, that is unbelievably pliable to fit all of our needs and I can honestly say, it is probably even better to work with as the one including eggs.
Appart of Fiber Tortilla Recipe, which is actually as well a variation of Fathead. Peat or a Potato Fiber makes the dough unbelievably soft and like real dough, that never breaks.
But our new Egg-Free Fathead Dough is as close as it can get.

Keto Breadsticks
Even though I have already made our Keto Italian Breadsticks, they were the mixture of far more ingredients including coconut flour and eggs as well.
I just wanted to experience once more with way fewer ingredients for the best ever Keto Fathead Dough and it really worked. Our new recipe requires only 3 ingredients.
Additionally to those I have also added butter together with Turmeric powder to be spread on top of the Breadsticks instead of eggs and of course sesame seeds, which gives that additional taste we all love.
For those, who are new to the Fathead dough, the name Fathead came from the documentary film, which addresses as well the ever famous Supersize me.
Fathead Dough has been around for years and is the most famous replacement for the Dough in Keto and Low Carb Lifestyle.
The base ingredient of the Fathead Dough is mozzarella cheese, which is either melted on the stove of a Microwave. Into it was then added one of the Keto Flour, mostly Almond Flour or Coconut Flour.
Eggs or their substitutes together with the spices are added and all of this is kneaded into a beautifully soft Keto Dough, which is then used for almost anything you can imagine. Starting from the ever famous Keto Pizzas to Keto Bread, Breadsticks, quiche, crusts, pastries, sweet or savory you name it.
Here the imaginations run wild and I am sure there are still so many dishes, we can transform into Keto that has not been experimented with.
Although there are so many Keto Flours you can experiment with, for the Fathead Dough, the most popular are Almond Flour, Coconut Flour, Ground Flax, and Psyllium Husk.
You can mix them together, or use only one of those, it really depends on what you are looking for and what you do prefer.
I love to make Fathead Dough with Almond Flour only as that is my preferred Keto Flour in most of the recipes.
It has got almost no taste and makes every dough soft and pliable to work with.
Coconuts, in general, contain many more calories as almonds do, so if you are looking at reducing your calorie intake, almonds would be a far better option. However, coconut flour tends to make some baking goods pretty dry.
Almond Flour or Ground Almonds are very similar to the normal flour and especially has very little taste in the dishes.
Coconut Flour on the other side has a bit of a stronger taste, but because it is very dry, you really need only a bit for your recipes and therefore most of the flavor is not felt at all.
There are various ways you can substitute Eggs in Keto Cooking and baking.
I am adding 9 Substitutes you can look at if you have either an allergy to eggs or you just simply do not want to use them as often as it requires.
9 Egg Substitutes in Keto Kitchen:

STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE BEST EGG-FREE KETO BREADSTICKS
First Step: Mozzarella
Prepare your mozzarella block and shred the cheese into smaller pieces.
Do not buy already pre-shredded mozzarella as it contains the starch to keep the shreds separate. The best way is to do it fresh with a mozzarella block.
Place the shredded mozzarella into a nonstick pot and heat up while mixing slowly.
Make sure the mozzarella is fully melted.

Second Step: Almond Flour
Once your mozzarella is melted, start slowly adding almond flour or ground almonds.
Using your spatula, integrate almonds fully into the mozzarella until the dough is soft and without any visible lumps of almond flour.

Third Step: Baking Powder
Having your stove switched off, add baking powder, and using your spatula mix that again into the fathead dough.

Fourth Step: Melt and Mix
Keep mixing the dough until you end up with a beautifully soft and silky fathead dough to be able to work with.

Fifth Step: Kneading
Place your prepared dough on a silicone sheet and, using your hands, start kneading the dough for a few minutes until you get a beautiful smooth consistency.
This might take 5 to 10 minutes but it is so worth it.

Sixth Step: Rolling
Once your Egg-Free Fathead Breadsticks dough is smooth and ready, you can roll it into a rectangular shape, which will go on to the baking tray.
As you see on the pictures I have folded the corners once again and tried to roll the dough in to make everything perfect in shape.
For the beautiful look, it helps if you turn the dough upside down before baking it.

Seventh Step: Brush up
Once the Fathead Dough is spread on a silicone sheet, brush it up with melted butter mixed together with Turmeric powder. This will give your keto breadsticks beautiful color and shine.

Eight Step: Cut and Sprinkle
Using a pizza cutter, cut the dough along the narrow side into long stripes and sprinkle it with sesame seeds.
Place it into the oven and bake for 7 to 9 minutes.
Bon appétit

TIPS AND TRICKS
Egg-Free Fathead Breadsticks
Melting – After so many trials of making Fathead dough for various recipes, I have discovered the best way to melt the Fathead Dough is on a stove directly and not Microwave. Using the microwave is not only my least preferred option, but it made it always difficult to get the best dough. It did work on some occasions, but on some not. With the stove instructions, I always get the perfect Fathead Dough for whatever I need it for.
Perfect shine – for the breadsticks or any crackers made with Fathead dough, eggs are one of the options. I have decided to mix butter together with Turmeric powder to give those yummy breadsticks the same look and feel. And it is now much more preferred by my husband as the egg spread was.
The dough is tough to the touch – if you do experience that your fathead dough is already tough and difficult to spread and roll, just heat it up a bit again and it becomes much softer. Knead it a bit again and you can continue with the steps.
