Keto Avocado Basic Dip Recipe
This easy to make Homemade Guacamole is made with 4 ingredients only. Without Cilantro and with added Sour Cream for that special twist.
Our super easy avocado dip has been made by me for as long as I can remember.
As our kids were small and we used to meet up with friends, the one appetizer that always worked (kids in mind), were cut veggies with various dips.
I usually used to make 3 different dips such as our avocado dip, plain yogurt, and Cream cheese with smoked paprika for various colors.
But Avocado was always the first one to go. That is how it stayed till now.
I would usually throw it all into the Magic Bullet (my go-to kitchen gadget for everything) and blend it, just because kids would pick anything out of it. And of course, I knew if I added cilantro or onions, it would become a No-Go.
I have made this recipe without Magic Bullet as I feel when you mash avocado with a fork and you have chunks left, the dip is much tastier.
Avocado
As a kid, I never knew Avocado ever existed.
I remember as a teenager, when I had the first bite, I did not like it at all, because it had no flavor to me.
How wrong was I?
Now I can not have a fridge without at least one avocado waiting to be ripe.
We all know the jokes: “ You can not go to the gym, because what if…”
What if at that moment your best avocado will become perfectly ripe for the day.
What an excuse.

If you start googling the question: ” What is the best way to stop turning avocado or guacamole from turning brown?”, you will get so many various answers.
The major issue is, that once the avocado opens up, light and air will darken that beautiful green color after a while.
Lime or lemons might help for a while, but at the end of the day, you should eat avocado or guacamole sooner than later. It stays beautifully green for about a day. Once you store it, choose from some of the tips below.
I am going to give you 6 choices:
– drop the seed into the dip and cover before placing it into the fridge
– cover with aluminum foil to keep the light off
– push the plastic wrap down in the bowl to prevent the air from getting in
– place half of an onion on top of the dip and cover
– cower to top of the dip with water
– Store in an airtight container
Fresh, Homemade Avocado Dip Guacamole will not last forever even if you store it the best way possible.
Therefore it is advisable to consume it as soon as you can.
I would normally store it for a maximum of 1-2 days, not longer.
Can you freeze guacamole?
You can certainly freeze avocado, which will give you a shelf life of approximately 6 months.
Once needed, take it out of the freezer the night before and let it slowly thaw in your refrigerator.

Guacamole dip is also great on a baked potato added on top of it 1st then some butter, salt&pepper then guacamole and sprinkle some everything bagel seasoning on top. Great new way to try the dip. ENJOY. For an extra little zing to guacamole add a 1/8 tsp minced garlic and small diced red onion.
That is a great idea. Would have to try it. Thanks for this.
