Can I Eat Sugar-Free Popsicles on Keto?
A popsicle on a keto diet is a perfect treat whenever needed.
You know what is inside, what it is sweetened with, and if all ingredients are keto-friendly.
Homemade ice pops are the best choice, not only because they are easy and simple to make, but the most important is the content. You know exactly what goes in, and you can fully control it.
Those days you have so many store-bought sugar-free popsicles that are a great choice if you do not want to make your own.
Just remember, as I always say to read the ingredients involved. Not all that is written is always the truth.
The significant part is also what sweetener is used in that particular product.
Check our article on the best and worst sugar sweeteners and substitutes you can use.
Homemade Sugar Free Ice Pops
Using one of the holidays, such as Easter, as a reason to make those cute mini popsicles does not have to be the only case.
Make it any time of the year, throughout the year, and have it stored in your freezer for whenever you get that sugary craving. One tiny popsicle goes a long way and fulfills your satisfaction.
Add them to your Popsicle family.
How Many Carbs Are in Those Low-Carb Popsicles?
Carb count – fantastic – zero.
The nutrition information on those lovely beauties is excellent. One pop has 0 carbs, 1 gram of protein, and 7 grams of fat. Sixty-eight grams of calories is just a perfect portion to keep you satisfied.
Depending on the size of your molds, you may need to adjust the calculation.
Keto-Friendly Frozen Treats
Most of us have kids, and those healthy mini popsicles are perfect for our loved ones whenever they need some treat.
They are not big popsicles, where you have to be worried kids will not be able to eat them all. You will not be worried that those ice pops will melt before they even start eating them.
Few bites, and they are gone. Just a perfect idea.
Fat Bombs
Calling those fat bombs ice pops would be just perfect as well. With 7 grams of fat per serving, they are perfectly slightly sweetened frozen fat bombs stored in your freezer for everyday needs.

STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO MAKE SUGAR-FREE POPSICLES RECIPE
First Step: Ingredients
Prepare all of your ingredients. Heavy cream should be cold for a better whisk.
Eggs on the other side at room temperature.
For sugar substitutes, go with powdered sweeteners as that is much easier to melt into the ice without grittiness.
If you only have crystalized sweetener, quickly grind it in your blender, coffee grainer, or Magic Bullet.
Second Step: Heavy Cream
Pour heavy cream with one tablespoon of powdered sweetener into the glass container. Add vanilla extract.
Using your Hand Blender, whisk until stiff peak and place aside.
Third Step: Egg Whites
In another glass container, whisk egg whites until soft peek.
Fourth Step: Egg Yolks
And a third glass jar with egg yolks and the rest of the powdered sugar. Whisk this super yummy combination until fluffy.
Fifth Step: Mix
Using your spatula, gently combine all three deliciousness into one triple delicious smooth mixture.
Sixth Step: Fill
Fill whatever mold you have chosen for those lovely homemade popsicles. Be it for Easter with beautiful eggs and bunnies shapes, hearts for Valentine’s, tiny trees for Christmas, or just using your ordinary kitchen finds like plastic cups or muffin tints.
Because this mixture is extra fluffy and contains many airy bubbles, I suggest gently banging your filled molds against the kitchen counter a few times. This helps all extra bubbles inside to pop, and you will get even-out mini popsicles.
Add ice pop sticks and a bit of extra mixture to cover them. Bang once again and straight into the freezer.
Seventh Step: Freeze
Depending on the size of the popsicles, you might need only 1 hour to freeze. But for the best and safest result, leave it in the freezer overnight.
Tips and Tricks
- Powdered Sweetener – If you only have crystalized sweetener, quickly grind it in your blender, coffee grainer, or Magic Bullet.
- Dairy free version – For dairy-free, use coconut cream or canned coconut milk instead. Make sure you get full-fat coconut milk for the thickness.
- Bang against your kitchen counter – because the mixture is extra fluffy and contains many airy bubbles, I suggest gently banging your filled molds against the kitchen counter a few times. This helps all extra bubbles inside to pop, and you will get even-out mini popsicles.
- Chocolate Coating – as an addition, you can still dip those frozen beauties into sugar-free chocolate magic shells.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
Additional Low Carb Ingredients as Variations
Add a bit of orange, lemon juice, or juice concentrate in vanilla extract, strawberry powder, stevia, or sprinkles. All of those will add beautiful color as well as additional flavors.
Can I Add Berries Like Blueberries or Strawberries In?
You can add any berries, such as raspberries, blueberries, and strawberries. Feel free to use either fresh or frozen. I suggest adding berries toward the end so your fluffy texture does not liquidize.
Mini Popsicle Molds as Storage Containers
Simple mini ice molds transform your favorite ice creams into a perfect mini-frozen treat.
Fill whatever mold you have chosen for those lovely mini popsicles and let it freeze overnight.
Be it for Easter with lovely eggs and bunnies shapes, hearts for Valentine’s, scary faces for Halloween, tiny trees for Christmas, or just using your ordinary kitchen finds like plastic cups, Ice cube trays, or muffin tins.
They all serve as storage containers you can keep until ready to consume.
Can I Make Popsicles Without a Mold?
Do you not have a popsicle mold? No Worries.
Popsicles can be made with various things you might already have in your kitchen.
Check around for whichever you have:
- Small Yogurt Containers
- Mini Dessert Cups
- Paper Cups
- Ice Cube Trays
- Muffin Tins
You can find at least one choice. Add BBQ wooden skewers, which you can break into smaller pieces, and you are ready to roll.
Store your popsicles easily. You can either leave them in the mold you have made them in. You can also take it from all the molds and wrap it in the cling film separately.
I prefer the second option as this will give me much more space in the freezer as if I would have the whole popsicle molds in.
The second advantage is that you can continue to use your ice pops molds for future popsicles. And that is especially when you do not have a waste choice of ice pop molds.
