Are Santa cupcakes keto?
Our Santa’s cupcakes are easy Christmas desserts, fully keto. Made with almond flour cupcakes and cream cheese frosting sweetened with one of the sweeteners allowed in our lifestyle makes, those cupcakes fully low carb.
How many carbs are in a Christmas cupcake?
One whole cupcake together with frosting comes to a perfect 2 grams of carbs and 1 gram of Fiber.
Calculating a total of 1 gram net carb for this beauty is outstanding.
What cupcakes should you use when making this recipe?
As a base for this invention, any cupcake can be used. How the cupcakes look does not matter.
As you see, I have used red cupcake lining, so whatever flavor or color will be nicely hidden.
I have gone with our most popular simple cupcake recipe made with almond flour mixture, because they are soft, moist, delish, light, and fluffy.
You can try this recipe, but it is all your choice. You could easily use our chocolate cupcakes, store-bought cake mix, your favorite vanilla cupcakes even red velvet cupcakes.
How to make cupcakes?
The basic cupcakes are simple to make. Simply mix all the ingredients, pour the cupcake batter into the muffin tin covered with cupcake lining and bake for 10 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
What is the best frosting to use for Santa cupcakes?
For our recipe, I have picked the easiest choice, as usual. Making cream cheese frosting, where you mix sweetener with cream cheese, is the easiest and the most delicious.
But again, if you prefer other types of frosting, you can use that. Ensure it is steady enough to hold the hat tower you will build.
You can use vanilla buttercream frosting, marshmallows, or any vanilla frosting.
How to make the frosting?
For our homemade frosting, you must whip up a room-temperature cream cheese with sweetener. By whipping, you get a perfectly smooth consistency, which can then be colored per your wish.
How to color the frosting?
As you see in the pictures, I have used natural food coloring, even though I am not fond of it health-wise.
I prefer making my colors from fruits or vegetables, but when in a hurry, a box of natural food coloring is always in the pantry.
I would use my homemade strawberry powder if I made those cupcakes today.
You can also pick beetroot or hibiscus to make a natural red color.
When to assemble Santa Claus cupcake?
It is best to assemble the whole cupcake before serving it, as it would be the freshest. But as we all know, you only sometimes have time for that, primarily when a big party is being held.
You can easily make the cupcakes in the morning and store them in the fridge to use later in the day.
I have also tried it a few times the night before, and they were still steady and beautiful the next day. But on the day of consuming them is my preferred suggestion.

Let us dive into the whole process of making them.
I am not going to step by step with making cupcakes because I have got a whole post and the recipe for you.
Just make sure, once baked, they are thoroughly cooled for the frosting to hold.

STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS FOR EASY SANTA HAT CUPCAKES RECIPE
First step: Prepare ingredients
Prepare all ingredients. Your cupcakes, whatever you pick, need to be cool completely.
Cream cheese is best at room temperature for the best whip.
Sweetener is best powdered.
Second step: Prepare icing
Place your room-temperature cream cheese and powdered sweetener into a large bowl.
Using a hand blender, blend the mixture thoroughly until you get a smooth thick consistency.
Take 3/4 of the mixture and place it into a separate bowl. Add food coloring dye or strawberry powder and mix until you are happy with the color.
Fill the white frosting into a piping bag fitted with a smaller round tip.
At the same time, spoon the frosting with red color into a separate piping bag fitted with a preferred large piping tip.
Close both of the bags on top.
Place both white and red colored icing into the fridge for an hour to harden even more.
Third step: Decorate
To better understand how to pipe frosting on top of the cupcakes, follow the direction in my video.
Start with red frosting. Using a swirl movement, start piping the frosting onto the cupcakes. Starting in the center and moving outwards and then back. Build a cylinder shape onto the cupcake, as you see in the video.
Take out the white frosting, and around the whole cupcake, make small dots. To finish it, add a little small dot of frosting is piped on top of the hat.
Sprinkle with coconut shreds if you want more of a snowy hat decoration.
Tips for making super cute cupcakes
- Cupcake liners – I always use two as one stick on the cupcakes during the baking, and the second is great for the look.
- Red food color – can be replaced with a tablespoon of strawberry powder, beetroot, or hibiscus.
- Powdered sugar – if you only have crystalized, blending it in a food processor or a coffee grinder will give you a perfect sanding sugar.
- Buttercream frosting – place softened butter into the cream cheese mixture.
- The frosting is soft – place it into the fridge until it hardens.
- Marshmallow – if you would like to use a marshmallow on top of the cupcakes, but it does not hold, you can fit it onto a thin bamboo skewer and push it into the cupcake base.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
Can I make these cupcakes in advance?
It is best to make those cupcakes on the day of consumption. You can prepare them early in the morning and store them in the fridge.
How to transport cupcakes?
If you do have a cupcake transporting bag, that would be best. If not, using a muffing baking tin is excellent.
In the fridge in an airtight container is the best to store those cupcakes. You can store cupcakes separately and do the decoration just before serving.
Can you freeze Christmas cupcakes?
I recommend not freezing the decorated cupcakes as the frosting will melt while thawing. You can freeze the cupcakes separate and make the frosting whenever needed.
