Easy Chocolate Recipes
Using the chocolate and nuts mixture, you can make different varieties and shapes, starting with our chocolate-covered peanuts and chocolate-covered almonds.
At first, I planned to just make chocolate nuts and cover them individually, but when I learned that I could make so much more and use the excess nuts, I started making more. That is why I created my peanut clusters and almond clusters recipes using homemade dark chocolate.
Not only that, but I also made another treat called dark chocolate almond bark and chocolate peanut bark, which even my daughters thought were store-bought because they were shaped like real chocolate nut bars.
Sugar-Free Dark Chocolate
I have been making my own sugar-free dark chocolate at home not only because it is convenient but also because it turns out better than store-bought ones. I have also made a few more homemade chocolate recipes, such as white chocolate bars, white chocolate chips, dark chocolate chips, and even milk chocolate magic shell.
Instead of buying and wasting money on chocolate bars with lots of sugar, I just started making my own recipe that I can do whenever I want.
Nuts To Use For Other Recipe Variations
Almonds
Almonds are one of my favorite nuts, especially for snacks, but I recently discovered that they are even better when coated with chocolate. This is a great choice if you have kids at home.
Peanuts
Peanuts are a popular and affordable option. They have a robust, earthy flavor and a slightly softer crunch than almonds.
Pecan
Pecans have a cute, oval shape and are enclosed in a hard shell. Once the shell is cracked open, the nut inside is revealed. Pecans are also a healthy type of nut and great for chocolate-covered recipes.
Mixed Nuts
If you are used to making chocolate-covered nuts using only one type of nut, why not explore the use of mixed nuts as well? Since you are using more than one type of nuts, this blend can include almonds, cashews, walnuts, pecans, and more.
How To Make Chocolate Covered Nuts Recipe
Make these simple recipes at home and see how easy they are with just a few ingredients you must prepare. I only use dark chocolate to coat the nuts in all these recipes, but you are free to use any chocolate varieties as long as you use sugar-free ones.
Kitchen Gadgets Needed:
- Instant Pot: Use if you do not have a double boiler.
- Glass Bowl: A bowl that fits on top of your Instant Pot is a great help to melt the chocolate.
- Tweezers: These ensure all the nuts are covered with chocolate.
- Chocolate Mold: A chocolate bark mold is needed for almonds and peanut barks as they have to be shaped like a chocolate nut bar.
Ingredients Needed:
- Sugar-Free Dark Chocolate: A homemade dark chocolate bar is perfect for these chocolate recipes, but if you do not have one, look for sugar-free ones in the stores.
- Almonds: Prepare fresh almonds. If you want to use raw or roasted almonds, feel free to do so.
- Peanuts: Use unsalted peanuts for the recipe since they are healthier and can reduce sodium intake.
- Coconut Oil: A little coconut oil is perfect for smoothing the melted chocolate.

STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS FOR MAKING CHOCOLATE-COVERED NUTS
First Step: Prepare Nuts and Chocolate
Prepare all the nuts. To make preparation easier, chop your chocolate bar into small pieces and melt them easily later.
Second Step: Melt the Chocolate
Using the instant pot and a glass mixing bowl, melt the chocolate with coconut oil in boiling water until entirely melted.
Third Step: Coat Nuts
Add the peanuts and almonds to the melted chocolate and stir them with a stick or spoon to coat them all with chocolate.
Fourth Step: Chocolate-Covered Almonds and Peanuts
For the chocolate-coated nuts and almonds, remove each nut from the chocolate mixture and place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Make sure to leave some space between each nut so they won’t stick to each other.
Fifth Step: Making Chocolate Nut Clusters
To make chocolate clusters, form small clusters using a spoon and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Like the first ones, give each cluster a space to prevent sticking while they are still soft.
Sixth Step: Chocolate Bark
To make chocolate bark, you will need a chocolate bar mold. The chocolate nut bark needs to be shaped like a fresh chocolate bar. Prepare the mold and start pouring the chocolate nut mixture into it.
Use a spoon to remove excess chocolate from the sides. Fill the mold with chocolate so the cookies will turn out perfectly once they are chilled and hardened.
TIPS AND TRICKS:
- Coconut oil: Adding coconut oil to the chocolate before melting it for an extra silky texture is good.
- Nuts: You can use any nut, such as walnuts, cashews, macadamia, or pecans.
- Melting: Melt chocolate with a double boiler, instant pot, and microwave.
- Salt: For the dark chocolate almonds recipe, you can sprinkle some sea salt on top while they are still soft, resulting in a sweet and salty treat.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
You can use either to melt chocolate, like most people do, and I also use it occasionally. However, it is easier for me to use the instant pot as the melting method because it is more convenient for me.
Are These Recipes Keto-Friendly?
Since I am using homemade, sugar-free chocolate for these recipes, I can assure you that all of these sweet treats are keto-friendly. In my years of blogging, I have already prepared substitutes for ingredients that contain too many carbs and sugar, such as the chocolate used for these nut recipes.
The nuts, such as almonds and peanuts, are natural and unsalted, making the recipes fresher and healthier.
Can I Use Roasted Nuts?
Yes, you can. Using roasted nuts for making nut clusters and bark recipes is an excellent idea as it adds flavor and aroma because of the roasting process. If you are a coffee lover and love the smell of roasted coffee, I am sure you will also like roasted nuts covered in chocolate.
You can buy roasted nuts at the stores or make them at home by placing them on a parchment-lined baking sheet and roasting them in the oven for 10-15 minutes until they are roasted.
What To Serve With Dark Chocolate Covered Nuts?
You can enjoy this variety of homemade chocolate-covered nuts with other sweet summer treats like mini popsicles, coconut ice cream, yogurt, and a fruit platter with chocolate-covered strawberries and dark chocolate blueberries.
You can serve them for parties and celebrations with savory dishes like trail mix, cheese chips, keto popcorn, and homemade crackers such as sesame crackers and bagel crackers.
Storing Options For Chocolate Nuts Recipes Like These
I have a few ways to store these chocolate-covered recipes and use them all for my leftovers.
- Refrigeration Is the simplest and most common method for storing my leftover coated nuts. I place them in a container or resealable bag and put them in the fridge for a few days.
- Freezing: This method is suitable if you want to store them longer. Just use freezer-safe airtight containers or heavy-duty freezer bags.
- Airtight Containers: Like storing candies and chocolate chips, you can store your chocolate-coated nuts in mason jars with tight-fitting lids that are perfect for keeping out moisture and air.
- Pantry Storing: If you do not want them to be frozen or refrigerated, you can store them in a cool, dry place in your pantry. Just ensure they are away from heat sources, like the oven or direct sunlight. If you use your homemade chocolate without any preservatives, consume them in a few days.
