Start with plain dark sugar free chocolate, use leftovers for chocolate chips and then prepare a white chocolate bar together with white chocolate chips. Once that is done, you can start experimenting with various fillings, like today.

It would be perfect to have this as a snack or dessert, together with dried fruits like dehydrated strawberries and dried cranberries or a dollop of homemade whipped cream and pretzels on the side.

Why You Will Love This Dessert

  • Healthier Option – this chocolate bark recipe is a guilt-free dessert since it is made without added sugar, making it perfect for those watching their sugar intake or following a low-carb lifestyle.
  • Satisfying Crunch – the combination of smooth chocolate and crunchy nuts creates a delightful, satisfying texture. And despite being sugar-free, the chocolate still offers a rich flavor that pairs perfectly with the natural sweetness of peanuts.
  • Simple to Make – these desserts are easy and quick to make, requiring only a few ingredients and effort, making them a convenient treat for any occasion.

Chocolate Peanut Bark

Chocolate peanut bark is made from peanuts combined with melted chocolate and formed into a bar. This recipe is easier than it looks, especially since you only need three ingredients. Every time I make chocolate-covered peanuts, I use leftovers for this recipe.

Some prefer chocolate bark broken into small pieces, while others like serving it whole. Either way, it’s the perfect snack for those craving chocolate and crunchy nuts at the same time.

What Is The Difference Between Chocolate Almond Bark And Chocolate Peanut Bark?

The main difference between chocolate almond bark and chocolate peanut bark is the type of nuts used. Chocolate almond bark uses almonds, while chocolate peanut bark uses peanuts. The choice between almond and peanut bark depends on personal preference for nut flavor and texture or whatever is in your kitchen.

Toppings For Chocolate Bark

Since making chocolate bark is a simple recipe, adding toppings is another level of upgrade. Try topping it with crushed nuts like walnuts, pistachios, and almonds for a mixed-nut feel.

Add some sweetness with dried fruits like craisins and dried blueberries. A good amount of coconut sprinkles can also enhance the color of your chocolate bark.

How To Make Homemade Chocolate Bark Using Peanuts

Discover the step-by-step process for making a sugar-free chocolate bar. Follow the instructions and start making your chocolate bark dessert at home. For this recipe, you can use any type of chocolate you prefer.

Kitchen Gadgets Needed:

  • Instant Pot and Glass Bowl: The instant pot will serve as the double boiler with a heatproof glass mixing bowl on top.
  • Rubber Spatula: Use for mixing the chocolate and nuts until all the peanuts are evenly covered with chocolate.
  • Silicone Loaf Pan: This equipment for shaping the chocolate bark is only optional. You can use a chocolate bar mold if you have one at home.

Ingredients Needed:

  • Peanuts: Choose unsalted peanuts if you want less salt for this recipe. If you do not have one, you can use almonds, walnuts, or any other nuts you like instead.
  • Dark Chocolate: Look for a good quality chocolate bar or chocolate chips. You can get them from the baking section in many grocery stores, but having a homemade one is better.
  • Coconut Oil: This helps to melt the chocolate evenly and gives the bark a smooth texture.

STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS FOR MAKING CHOCOLATE BARK RECIPE

First Step: Ingredients

The first thing to do is prepare the ingredients.

For the chocolate, dark chocolate is perfect since it is not too sweet and pairs great with any nuts. Prepare your chocolate bars by chopping them into little pieces so they will melt easily, or if you do not have much time, you can just use chocolate chips.

You can prepare the peanuts by rinsing them under cold running water and then patting them dry with a clean kitchen towel before using them.

Second Step: Melt The Chocolate

Using the instant pot, add hot water and let it simmer for a minute. Put the glass bowl on top and start melting the chopped chocolate and coconut oil together. Stir with a spoon to combine them.

Keep stirring until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.

You can use a saucepan with a bowl as a double boiler if you do not have an instant pot.

Third Step: Combine Chocolate and Peanuts

Add the peanuts to the melted chocolate and mix with a rubber spatula until well combined.

Fourth Step: Transfer to Silicone Mold

Pour the chocolate mixture into the silicone mold. Spread the chocolate using a rubber spatula until it forms a bark, similar to a candy bar.

Scrape the sides to get the perfect bar when the bark is chilled. Optionally, you can tap the silicone mold to set the mixture evenly.

Fifth Step: Chill and Serve

Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour or until the bark is firm.

Once chilled, remove from the mold and serve. You can break them into little pieces before serving.

TIPS AND TRICKS:

  • Add a pinch of sea salt – salt can enhance the flavor of your chocolate bark, so you are free to add salt for the perfect balance of sweetness and saltiness.
  • Melting chocolate – melting different types of chocolate can be a challenge for some, so another way to melt chocolate is by using a double boiler or microwave. Just ensure that if you use a microwave, place the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl.
  • Toppings – feel free to sprinkle your bark with additional toppings like sugar-free sprinklesketo stevia powder, dried cherries, or other fruits.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Substitute For Dark Chocolate

If dark chocolate is unavailable, use milk chocolate or melted white chocolate chips as a substitute. Semi-sweet chocolate chips are also okay if you prefer a sweeter flavor for making bark, but remember that all these options should be without sugar, so make sure to find sugar-free ones.

Is Peppermint Bark A White Chocolate Bark?

Yes, based on some peppermint barks I see in the stores, they are typically made with a layer of white chocolate as their base. The white chocolate is then topped with crushed candy canes or peppermint candies, giving it a festive and refreshing flavor.

What To Serve With Peanuts Candy Bark?

Serve your chocolate bark on a cheese platter, including cheese chipscurd cheese dip, and cheese bacon chips. The savory flavors of the cheese will complement the sweetness of the bark.

Try breaking the chocolate bark into small pieces and sprinkle them on top of your coconut ice cream or popsicles. The best chocolate bark is also perfect for coffee and tea time.

How Do I Store This Easy Dessert Dark Chocolate Bark?

Cover your chocolate bark with aluminum foil and place it in any container with a lid to keep it fresh. Try keeping it in the fridge. It will stay good for about two weeks, and if you need to stack it, put parchment paper between the chocolate layers.

Can I Freeze Chocolate Peanut Bark?

Yes, sure, you can freeze chocolate bark. Just put it in an airtight container or a freezer bag and make sure it is well sealed. It should stay good in the freezer for up to 2-3 months. When you want to eat it, let it thaw in the fridge or at room temperature for a bit before enjoying it.
