Burgers

We have plenty of burger ideas in our way of life.

Buns, No Buns, Avocado Buns like our avocado burger or just an ordinary bunless bacon burger

Add BBQ sauce, Guacamole, Green Goddess Dressing or Basil Pesto; add French Fries, Pickled Daikon and a few slices of Crispy Twisted Bacon, and you won’t find anything better than a meal that you have just prepared.

This time, I am going to show you a meal everyone will enjoy. Mini burger bites are not ordinary burgers.

Meal Planning

Mini bites are a great choice for meal planning; prepare the mixture in advance, then divide it and freeze it.

When you need them, or you’re in a hurry, just unfreeze one pack.

Make the mini hamburgers and place them directly on your sheet pan, then bake them for half an hour, or use the recipe for stuffed cabbage rolls

These little bites are ready and fresh for any occasion, just as you like them.

for Kids

Has this ever happened to you?

When you tried to give your child some vegetables, you already know in the back of your mind that nine out of ten times they’ll not even look at them?

Let us not begin by explaining how good or healthy they are.

When it comes to children, there’s only one way.

So long as our loved ones like it, they will eat it.

No matter how hard you try with your magic, it usually has no effect.

If you add vegetables to different dishes, as soon as any green item enters the dish, they start selecting and removing all the green stuff they see on the plate.

Right now, the perfect burgers for kids have been invented, and nobody will even know what’s inside.

Can you add Burgers into a soup?

Our Burger Mini Bites are a perfect addition to your Bone Broth or any soup you like.

I don’t know what kind of soup you prefer, but mine has to be boiling. Just make sure they are thoroughly baked and warmed before you serve them, or they’ll cool the soup down immediately.

What buns can you serve burgers with?

We have a few options you can serve those burgers with.

Pick from:

You can also use our Flaxseed Wraps or Fiber Tortillas as an alternative.

Keto Burger Bun Options

Apart from the actual homemade Buns I have mentioned above, you can use as a replacement for Buns:

  • Thick slices of tomatoes
  • Lettuce
  • Portobello mushrooms
  • Bell pepper
  • Cauliflower buns

What to serve with Burgers?

Our burger mini bites are ideal for adding to your salad or using as burger sides.

But making them a tiny bit bigger, you have a great main meal to go with one of the sides for a burger such as:

Why should you make those Low Carb Burger Mini Bites?

I love to make those beauties for three reasons.

  • When I have a lot of vegetables and can’t decide what to do, I simply make burgers and put everything from the fridge on them.
  • Once I have made the mixture, I put three portions in the freezer for when I need them.
  • In the end, this is one of the simplest ways to get as many veggies as possible into our stomachs without even noticing.

On a normal day, I take the minced meat and add all the vegetables left in the fridge; the dish is always full of flavor and always eaten. This time, I wrote down all the ingredients on paper so you will have them.

You can always swap the other vegetables depending on what you have in your fridge.

Second Step: Grate all the Vegetables

Using a grater, grate all the vegetables you chose.

The most important thing is that they are sliced thin to form perfect patties.

Third Step: Mix

In a large mixing bowl, add all the grated vegetables.

Add two eggs, almond flour, salt, pepper, and mix.

If any liquid forms, squeeze the veggies and remove the liquid.

Otherwise, your burgers will be very soft and difficult to form.

Fourth Step: Portion and Bake

Once everything is thoroughly mixed, start forming your burger mini bites.

One by one, place each burger onto your sheet pan covered with parchment paper.

Bake for 20 minutes.

I have managed to form 13 mini burgers with this recipe and still had some leftovers later on. The total mixture was 2 kilos.

Fifth Step: Store

While your burgers bake, you can portion out the leftovers.

I usually use a Ziploc bag and portion it so one bag is a perfect dinner portion for my family.

You can either place the Ziploc bags in your freezer for the keto meal plan or leave them in your refrigerator for up to 2 days.

Sixth Step: Turn and Bake

After 20 minutes of baking, turn each burger.

Return to the oven and bake for another 10 minutes.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

How do you store burgers?

You can keep fully cooked burgers in the glass container in the refrigerator for three to four days.

You can also put the mixture in the refrigerator for two days, or freeze it.

Is that enough to feed my whole family?

Well, it all depends on how hungry you are. This recipe makes 2 kg of burger mixture. You’ll have to guess for yourself how much you’ll enjoy.

Do you still think that is not enough?  One can always double it.

Can I freeze Keto Burgers?

You can undoubtedly freeze keto burgers, but I suggest freezing the mixture and making the burgers fresh once unfrozen.

    • Dear Sally,

Thanks for asking, but unfortunately I have not baked it as a whole meatloaf, since we do like more a bite size dishes. But I would definitely double the baking time. And it really depends if you are going to use the whole 2kg mass as a one meatloaf. Please do let me know how it went and if you have any other questions. Have a nice day. Zuzana

  1. Dear Zuzana,
This recipe is just great! My daugther that hardly touches zucchinis, cauliflowers and aubergines ate 8 pieces at once. And the best thing: She wants to have the low carb burgers now every week! 😉

    Cheers,
    Doris

    • Dear Doris,
I am happy my burgers helped a bit. Now you know the best way how to get some more vegetables into your daughters tummy. I am very happy she loves them. Watch for some more ideas on how to use those burgers. Comming soon. 🙂

  2. What is “un-fattened” almond flour? Never heard the term & google apparently hasn’t ether. I did find that aubergine are eggplant. Had not heard them called aubergine either. Guess I can count myself lucky today. I learned one new thing & will soon learn a second new thing when I learn about u’-fattened almond flour. Thank you. These sound delicious!!

    • Dear Penny,

The un-fattened almond flour or fat reduced is the one, where they do remove most of the fat from almonds before preparing them into the flour. In that way, the flour is very very dry, very similar to the coconut flour. One example is Sukrin one:http://amzn.to/2Bj45K1

Hope it did help a bit

  3. Is this correct – makes 20 servings? Also – the calorie and macro counts seem off – I put it into my fitness pal and it came back with 80 calories per serving, 4g fat, 4g net carbs (6g less 2g dietary fiber), 7g protein (I used .5 kg ground beef as the meat)

    • Dear Amy,

Thanks for a question. I also use Myfitnesspal for calculations. But what could be the difference, I normally make the burgers really tiny, more like a bit size. And therefore I guess I manage 20 pcs and each has got less in Macros.
Hope that helps. Have a great day

  4. Dear Zuzana: Can you imagine using the mixture for soup? Please give us a delicious soup recipe that will use all the refrigerated veggies. I adore soup.

    • Dear Mary,

I would say yes, definitely. They could be a great addition inside the soup. But I will bake them beforehand and add already made. Maybe warm them up a bit so the soup does not get cold because of them.
It is actually pretty popular here in Austria to add those into a soup. And I have made a perfect Keto Ramen Chicken Noodle Soup just recently. have a look. That is our favorite right now. Or also check the Egg-drop soup. Easy to make and make a difference to your bone broth. Also, Sauerkraut soups is awesome.

  6. Can you suggest how many cups, or ounces or other measurement of vegetables should be used (total)? It’s challenging to equate mushrooms to cauliflower, etc. and another measurement would be helpful for a variety of vegetables.

    Reply
    • Frankly, when I make this recipe, I never measure. I just add veggies I have at home, mix it all with minced meat and if more almond flour is needed I just add that in. Have a look at the video for how consistency should be.

  7. It looks like the translation to English isn’t quite on for this recipe.
Could you please explain what is mean by “Pieces” of the vegetables? It is quite confusing as most vegetables come in so many various sizes, like zucchini can be quite large, or small….. and 1/2 piece of cauliflower? What is that?
