Keto cheese bacon chips are one of the easiest keto cheese snacks. Those super crunchy double cheese chips with bacon are not only the most popular keto recipe after our cheese bacon nachos but also entirely gluten-free, grain-free, and perfect as a keto snack.
Are Chips Keto Friendly?
The question of keto-friendly depends on what chips you are looking at.
If the chips are made entirely from cheese only, like our popcorn or cheese pops, for example, or are mixed cheese with one of the nuts flowers, they are considered fully keto.
On our website, all the snacks are low-carb, and keto since this is our lifestyle.
If you are looking at the chips in the supermarkets, ensure you thoroughly read the ingredients, even if keto, low carb, or reduced carbs.
What Type of Keto Chips are there?
The types of keto chips are extensive.
We can put them into three main categories:
- Fathead – are the keto chips or snacks made out of fathead dough with few alternations depending on the person making them.
- Cheese – either made out of pure cheese only or various mixtures of cheese and nut flours, you can bake chips into keto perfection.
- Veggies – pure vegetables, green leaves, or cur root veggies, which are seasoned, are perfect additions to keto recipes, and chips made of vegetables are trendy in our lifestyle.
What Are the Lowest Carb Chips?
Chips with the lowest carbohydrates are, of course, vegetable ones.
An example is our dehydrated zucchini or cucumber chips, which are not only super tasty but also dehydrated to crispy perfection.
If you ignore the fat and protein, pure cheese chips, like our low-carb popcorn or goldfish crackers, also have 0 carbohydrates.
So, in the end, you have to look at various nutrition facts in general.
Best Keto Cheese Crisps Recipe
What if I told you you could have the same WOW effect with our chips?
Like real chips. Well, almost like real chips. Without potatoes, of course.
No kidding.
Those beauties are exactly as pulled from the plastic bags you bought in the supermarket.
Super crunchy with extra flavor, addictive like no others and with bacony flavor, there is no way of leaving them alone.
They are gone in minutes.
That happens every time I make them. If we have guests, I must hide those chips from my family until everyone is seated. And there they go on the table, and half of them are gone before I manage to place dips.
Crispy Keto Snacks
With already posted the majority of recipes on my blog, it should be time to start making a keto snacks book.
I can not help it. Snacks are the one part of exploring that always gets me.
I always want to make and discover another low-carb snack we can have either in the evening or as a lunch box idea for my daughter.
And most of them do contain cheese.
I am starting with keto popcorn, goldfish crackers, fried cheese balls, nachos, tortilla chips, oven-baked cheese chips, cheese puffs and sesame crackers. I can not stop. Anyway.
I must mention those TikTok viral crunchy twisted bacon done in 5 different variations.
I have attached all of our cheese snack recipes below at the end of this post for you to look at.
Something may inspire you to try.
As for my belief, there are NEVER enough cheese snack recipes.

STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO MAKE KETO CHEESE BACON CHIPS
First Step: Prepare Ingredients
First, preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius or 390 degrees Fahrenheit.
To make keto cheese bacon chips, you must first prepare all the ingredients.
For this recipe, all you need is two different types of cheese plus bacon.
What type of cheese you pick is entirely up to you as long as it is hard.
I like to use emmental cheese together with sharp cheddar for the color. But you can have any kind of cheese you use, even a cheese alternative or Mexican cheese or parmesan cheese for making parmesan crisps.
Whatever cheese you bake with, grate it on a cheese grater.
Grate the cheese yourself.
If possible, do not use already pre-grated cheese. I mentioned this in every single recipe where cheese is involved.
When you buy pre-grated cheese, it is covered with starch to keep the cheese pieces separated. If you buy cheese, the best is to get it in a box and great it directly whenever you need it.
In that way, you get the freshest cheese possible.
Cut bacon into tiny pieces. You do not have to pre-cook it since this bacon will be cooked in the oven while making the chips.
Second Step: Place the First Cheese
Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Start with emmental cheese or use shredded cheese you choose and put a pile of cheese in a round shape on the baking tray. Make sure to leave enough room in between as they will spread more.
For a better understanding, please review the video where I did it all for you.
Third Step: Bacon on Top
Once you have done the first step, take the bacon bits and put a few pieces of bacon on top of each cheese dip.
Fourth Step: Cover With Cheddar
The third and final step involves adding cheddar cheese to the cheese piles.
I prefer cheddar cheese because of its color and intense flavor, but you can pick any cheese you choose.
Fifth Step: Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 7 minutes to 10 minutes or until golden brown. Time in the oven depends on how big and thick your chips are.
Remove from oven and let cool. You can tap the remaining oil residue with a paper towel.
TIPS AND TRICKS FOR EASY BAKED CHEESE CRISPS
- Cheese Blocks – always buy cheese blocks if possible. As I have already mentioned quite a few times in our recipes, using already pre-shredded cheese is not the best idea. Most store-bought shredded cheeses are covered in some starch, so they do not go old and moldy in plastic bags. By shredding or grating your cheese directly before cooking, you will not only get the freshest cheese you can imagine, but you will know that there is nothing else in there except pure cheese.
- Crispiness – every oven is different; therefore, I suggest watching your chips. They can either burn very fast, or the process might take a bit longer. Just check it out. If you feel that the chips are not crispy after cooling them thoroughly, keep them in the oven for a bit longer next time.
- Type of cheese – You can use any hard cheese. Depending on your preference, pick two of your favorites. Cheddar gives you that perfect orange look and unique cheese crisp taste; therefore, I always choose that as the main base. Another variety varies depending on what we have at home at that time. I prefer emmental cheese, and that is most of the time in the fridge.
- Bacon – pre-baked or not does not matters. If the bacon is raw, you do not have to pre-bake it since it will bake anyways during the baking process in the oven.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
What Dips Can You Serve With Keto Chips?
The selection of dips to serve with keto chips is so vast.
You can serve them with plain homemade Greek yogurt sprinkled with smoked paprika, turmeric, Taco seasoning, Italian seasoning or any of the herbs.
You can mix a whole bowl of our favorite homemade garlic cheese dip, wild garlic pesto or green goddess dressing, which is excellent if combined with a bit of yogurt or sour cream.
Alternatively, mix soft avocado with some tomatoes for a great keto buffalo chicken dip, or guacamole, or use our favorite salsa.
Can I Use Cheddar Cheese Slices Instead of Shredded Cheese?
Yes, it is super easy to make those. You can use cheddar cheese slices in this recipe to create delicious and crispy cheese crisps. Cut the slices of cheese into smaller pieces or use them as is for easy preparation.
Can I Make Cheese Crisps in Air Fryer?
Yes, you can make cheese crisps in an air fryer for a convenient and quick cooking method with just a few minutes to make. Place the sliced cheese on the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not sticking to the parchment or each other, and cook for about 5 to 10 minutes until they turn crispy and golden.
How To Keep Chips Crispy at All Times?
To maintain the crispiness of the cheese chips, let them cool entirely after coming out of the oven or air fryer. Store them in an airtight container to avoid moisture exposure, as humidity can soften the crisps. If you find the crisps losing their crunch over time, reheat them in the oven or air fryer for a few minutes to restore their crispy texture.
How Do I Store Cheese Crisps at Home?
Those cheese bacon chips are ideally stored on your kitchen counter or in a pantry in an airtight container to prevent sogginess.
In the container, they will last a long time.
I had them stored even for three weeks, and they were still perfect and crunchy.
I recommend not freezing those crunchy cheese chips as they will become soggy, whatever packing method you use.
But if you insist, you can freeze them without a problem. Remember that after unfreezing, you would have to put them again into the oven to re-crisp.
