The reason I joined TikTok was just to see what my daughter posts. But like everyone else, I became so hooked to it, that there are times, I lose track of time and get into those perfect Quick Video ideas you have to try.
Chaffle craze was probably not from TikTok, but from our Keto community. Still that craze as everyone got hooked and the variations you can make with Chaffles are unreal.
I just could not help, but make it immediately after I saw the first video.
And living Keto, I have swapped normal noodles for Palmini types, that are fully keto. Since then, this is the recipe I make at least once a week when I run out of ideas.
I had to make it the minute I saw Abby from House Of Keto twisting that bacon.
It was just so perfect, that even though we are not really making bacon in big batches, this was the recipe I had to go for.
What is a Twisted Bacon?
Twisted Bacon is the name of the Tiktok viral Video made by Abby from House Of Keto, where she by coincidence, started twisted bacon to fit more of it onto the baking sheet. After she baked it, found out that those twisted parts were actually much tastier, with that perfect crisp on the outside and still chewiness from the inside.
Made a video and everyone got hooked.
And then came Keto Candied Bacon from the same idea, which made our Breakfast Dessert just the perfect addition.
I love it dearly and already have various Bacon Recipes on the Blog. Just look at our Nachos, which everyone loves. Without that addition of bacon bits, it would be just an ordinary Keto Cheese Chips.
But bacon gives you that perfect taste, you have to eat all the time. There are also a lot of ways how to cook bacon and you can enjoy it any other ways.

Types of Bacon
Living in Europe, after I have started searching for the best type of bacon to make those twisted bacon Sticks, I found out there are so many.
So many choices. Different lengths, different thicknesses, some with more fat, some with almost no fat at all.
Pork Belly Bacon, Beef Bacon, Turkey Bacon. You even get a Soy Bacon for vegetarians.
For some reason, here in Central Europe, bacon is much shorter than the one you get in the US and cut really thin.
This is actually the type I prefer as I have tried it all and the thinner your bacon is, the crispier the Bacon Sticks are at the end.
Twisted Bacon Seasoning
Originally, Abby used Everything Bagels as a seasoning for her bacon twist.
I have experienced a bit further and have gone into this recipe with 5 variations.
Plain Bacon – Where all you need is a pure bacon slice
Sesame Seeds – Which gives you that perfect nutty feel snack type of Bacon Sticks
Pork Rinds – Grinding Pork Rinds gets you a perfect Crunchy powder used for Keto Breading
Tajin – Popular Tajin chili-lime seasoning blend that elevates the flavor of bacon
Mix – a mix of all of the seasonings above, which I have tried at the end with all the seasoning I had left. This last choice has won above all, as a perfect mixture of flavors accompanying the bacon slices.
But you can go even further and go with Cheese, Chilli, Sugar-Free Maple Syrup, Brown Sugar, Cinnamon, Lemon, Pepper, Cayenne Pepper, Tabasco, Smoked Paprika, Italian Seasoning, Chia Seeds, Hemp Seeds.
What can you use Twisted Bacon for?
You might think that this perfect Tiktok Viral Idea can be used only for Breakfast? No way. Imaginations are really big.
You can use Twisted Bacon as:
Decoration to your Charcuterie Board

Add them into your cocktails such as Bloody Mary as a garnish

STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO DO CRISPY TWISTED BACON
First Step: Twisted Bacon Ingredients
If you decide to use plain bacon and no seasoning, you can skip to step number 4 and then 8.
For all tho others, prepare your seasoning as well as bacon.
Second Step: Pork Rinds Keto Bread Crumbs
If you do not have already grind breadcrumbs, you can simply grind them either in the Magic Bullet or Coffee Grainer. I normally make more than I need and store them in a Mason Jar in my fridge.
Place a cup of Pork Rinds into the Grinder and grind until you get the Breadcrumbs consistency.
Third Step: Dipping Containers
For dipping, it is best to have shallow containers, that are as long as your bacon is. This will help once you will be dipping your bacon into the preferred seasoning
Fourth Step: Plain Bacon
If you are not going with any seasoning, take a plain bacon stripe and start twisting it holding each end with your hand. For better understanding, check the video with full step-by-step instructions on how to do twisted bacon.
Fifth Step: Pork Rinds Seasoning
Place your Pork Rind Breadcrumbs into the longer shaped container and dip the whole bacon slice into it. You might have to push it slightly with your hands, so the breadcrumbs stick to the bacon.
Start gently twisting, trying to make sure that you keep as many breadcrumbs on the bacon as possible. If you do have most falling down, just dipped it once again after you have fully twisted the bacon strips.
Place onto the baking sheet covered with parchment paper and continue twisting and dipping.
Sixth Step: Tajin Seasoning
The exact same steps for Tajin Seasoning as it goes with Pork Rinds Breadcrumbs.
Take a stripe of bacon, dip into Tajin Seasoning from both sides and start twisting the bacon.
Once fully twisted, place onto the baking sheet and continue.
Seventh Step: Sesame Seeds Seasoning
Sesame Seeds are my third option and actually my preferred one. They stick onto the bacon perfectly. I would say, the best of all of the seasonings I have tried. Once twisted, place onto the baking sheet and continue.
Eight Step: Baking Sheet and Oven
If you have some extra seasoning as well as bacon left, mix all of the seasonings together and follow the same steps as before. Dip the bacon from both sides and twist.
This mixture Flavor is delicious as all of the 3 seasonings mixed together give you a perfect addition to the bacon flavor.
Place all onto the baking sheet and bake for 30-40 minutes (depending on the thickness of your bacon) at 180C or 350 F.
Check after 25 minutes and decide if it needs to be baked much longer or it is almost ready.
