Keto Pasta Sauce
With a wide variety of Keto sauces, it is not always easy which one to pick? Especially when you get additional great choices of Keto Pasta or Noodles Substitutes to go with it.
For that reason, I have tried to make it as easy as possible for you and picked it all myself.
I have searched which sauce goes the best with which types of Pasta, Noodles, or Spaghetti. It all depends on the thickness of the sauce and consistency.
And therefore we do have Keto Marinara Sauce with Ribbon Pasta, Bolognese Sauce with Homemade Keto Spaghetti, Alfredo pasta Noodles or Lasagna Bolognese.
Homemade Low Carb Pasta
For this Pasta Carbonara recipe, I have chosen our Homemade Low Carb Pasta made with Psyllium Fiber.
This pasta substitute, I believe brings the best out of the classic flavors of this low-carb carbonara sauce and moves it to the next level.
As the noodles are a tiny bit thicker than our Keto Egg Noodles, they do soak up a bit of sauce in and the flavor of the whole dish intensifies.
Additionally, raw eggs can only cook properly, if the shape and the thickens of the pasta are large enough.
Even though I have picked Psyllium Pasta for this recipe, but you can go wild and choose one of our Pasta Alternatives. Whether it will be Spaghetti, Gnocchi, Pasta, or any of the Vegetable Noodles, I am sure your family’s low-carb dinner would be a blast.
You can even make the popular Keto Carbonara Zoodles or Keto Carbonara Cauliflower.
And why not alternate the various choices we have with this Keto Recipe.
With our recipe you get a perfect 4 portions, that will fill you up fully.
For a full portion of pasta together with the sauce, you get 2 grams of net carbs, which is actually outstanding, taking into consideration, how this Keto meal will fill you up.

STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS ON THE BEST KETO PASTA CARBONARA RECIPE
First Step: Low Carb Pasta Ingredients
If you do not have one of the Keto Pasta ready and you have decided to go with our recipe, prepare all of the ingredients.
If you have your pasta already, skip to the third step.
Second Step: Prepare Keto Pasta
It is very easy to make low-carb pasta with Psyllium Husk Fiber.
All you have to do is put all of the ingredients is into the magic bullet or any of the blenders you have.
Blend it all together until a smooth consistency and pour onto the baking sheet covered with parchment paper.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, let it cool and roll into a loaf.
Cut into preferred slices.
Third Step: Keto Pasta Carbonara Ingredients
For our pasta carbonara sauce, you would need egg yolks.
Leftover Egg Whites could be used in our Ice Cream Cone Recipe.
For the bacon, cut it into small square pieces.
I have used Pancetta Bacon, but you can use any bacon you prefer or use it regularly.
Grate your Parmesan cheese on a greater. Please do not buy already grated Parmesan cheese or any of the cheeses as they always contain starch so they don’t stick together in the packages.
Fourth Step: Whisk Egg Yolks together with Parmesan Cheese
In a small bowl whisk both of the egg yolks.
Into it add your Parmesan cheese and mix it all together.
Keep a bit of extra grated parmesan on the side for topping.
Put it aside to use for later on.
Fifth Step: Cook Bacon
Prepare your cooking pot and start cooking your bacon bites over medium heat until fully cooked and crunchy.
Sixth Step: Add Pasta and Parmesan Egg mixture and Black Pepper
Once your bacon is fully cooked, add your pasta and mix together.
Switch off the heat as raw egg yolks might scramble.
Into it, add the Parmesan Eggs mixture you have prepared beforehand and add 1 teaspoon of black pepper.
Seventh Step: Mix All
Mix it all together.
Make sure all the sauce is fully combined with your keto pasta.
If your keto pasta sauce seems to be extra dry, you can add a few tablespoons of bone broth or plain water.
Top it up with extra grated parmesan and serve immediately.
Tips and Tricks:
- Egg Mixture – add after all is cooked. No need to cook further, otherwise your eggs will scrumble. Heat will still cook them fully.
- Pasta too dry – add few spoons of broth in
- More Protein – add chicken and transform this dish into Chicken Carbonara
- Egg Whites left – use them for our Keto Ice Cream Cones.
- Parmesan Cheese – Grate your Parmesan cheese on a greater. Please do not buy already grated Parmesan cheese or any of the cheeses as they always contain starch so they don’t stick together in the packages.

Hi Zuzana
I love the website and the recipes. I have so far made the lasagne and the carbonara. Can I check if the measurements are correct for the psyllium husk powder? The recipe says 10g/2 tbs, but when I weighed 1 tbs it was 10g so wasn’t sure whether to add the 2nd tbs?
My ‘pasta’ was sticky and took longer to cook so I am presuming I did need the extra amount?
Definitely going to try the recipe again though, it was yummy and filling.
Thank you
I have just put the tablespoon of ground psyllium onto the scale to make sure for you and it is 5 grams exactly. Could it be, that you are maybe using whole psyllium husk? That might be heavier in weight.
