Low-Carb Radish Recipes

I use radish as an addition to most of my salads or as a side dish whenever fresh vegetables are needed. But if you would like to give it a try, I have recently fallen in love with pickled varieties. 

Whether you pick white pickled daikon, colorful Korean pickled radish, purple or rainbow pickles, you will surely love them.

And if you would like to go ahead and cook radishes, I have some great tips here as well. 

Keto Radish Chips

If you are following the keto lifestyle, you should give those yum radish chips a try. They are almost zero net carbs per serving, a perfect salty snack replacement for the sweet potato chips you have been used to. 

What Type of Radish Can You Use?

To make chips, you can use any radish or low carb vegetable. Common varieties like red, black, and white or daikon radishes work well for this recipe, providing a delightful crunch and flavor perfect for a healthy and satisfying snack.

How To Make the Best Keto Chips?

Let me introduce you to a quick and easy way to make keto chips with any vegetables you wish. I am also including full step-by-step video instructions for those who prefer more of a visual feel. 

Kitchen Gadgets Needed:

  • Mixing bowl
  • Dehydrator

Ingredients needed:

  • Radish
  • Hemp Seeds
  • Olive Oil
  • Salt

STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS TO CRISPY RADISH CHIPS RECIPE

First Step: Prepare Ingredients

Begin by preparing your ingredients for making dehydrated radish chips. I have used hemp seeds as an addition, but you can add whatever seeds you wish. 

Thoroughly wash and remove excess dirt from radishes. Fully dry with a paper towel before you cut the radishes.

Second Step: Slice and Flavor

Take the bunch of radishes and thinly slice them into pieces using a sharp knife or mandolin. After you slice the radishes, place them into the mixing bowl and add flavors. Add the olive oil, sprinkling hemp seeds for an added twist, and a gentle sprinkle with salt to elevate the taste.

Third Step: Mix

Gently toss these seasoned radish slices in a mixing bowl, ensuring you cover each piece with the goodness of the oil, seeds, and seasoning. Toss well.

Fourth Step: Dehydrate and enjoy

Lay the radish slices on dehydrator sheets, ensuring enough room to breathe and crisp up. Place sheets on top of each other and close the dehydrator.

Switch on and dehydrate for approximately 5 to 6 hours.

TIPS AND TRICKS:

  • Swap – swap dehydrator trays from time to time, ensuring all of the slices dries at the same pace. 
  • Seasoning – use sesame seeds, chia seeds or any seeds you wish. Add some garlic powder, onion powder, avocado oil, red pepper flakes, salt and pepper, or cooking spray.

What to Serve With Radish Chips?

Radish chips can be a tasty and crunchy snack, but you can pair them with various dips and accompaniments. Consider serving them with a creamy ranch, yogurt-based dip, salsa or guacamole. They also make a great side alongside sandwiches, bunless burgers, or wraps for added texture and flavor.

How To Roast Baked Radish Chips in the Oven?

Follow the first few steps, placing radish slices onto the large baking sheet with parchment paper.

Place the baking sheet with the radish slices in the oven you already heated. Make sure the oven oven temperature that isn’t too high, so your sliced radishes do not burn. Roast radishes for a total of about 20-25 minutes, and check them regularly. They will turn crispy and delicious, perfect as a gluten-free snack. Take them out of the oven and serve them when brown and crisp, and let them cool down.

A key to making crispy radishes when baking is turning the sides of radish slices every 5-10 minutes. If they have released some moisture, pat dry with paper towel. 

How To Make Air Fryer Radish Chips?

To make keto Air Fryer radish chips:

  1. Start by slicing fresh red radishes into thin rounds.
  2. Toss the radish slices in a bowl with olive oil, salt, and your favorite seasonings.
  3. Preheat your air fryer to around 375°F (190°C), then arrange the radish slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  4. Cook them for about 8-10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until they turn crispy and golden brown.
  5. Once done, let them cool slightly before enjoying the delicious and healthy snack.
How Do I Store Radish Chips?

When storing radish chips, thoroughly cool them before transferring them to an airtight container or resealable bag. Placing a paper towel in the container can help absorb any excess moisture and keep them crispy. Store them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Properly stored, leftover radish chips can stay crispy crunchy for a few days.
